Anyone interested in doing a common race this year? Ideally it would be a marathon and half-marathon combo for people who would want to do either race.

Spring or summer would be best as I may (hopefully!) be on a, uh, long business trip this fall.
In the interest of self-interest, I suggest something in southern California.
http://www.marathonguide.com/races/M...&Status=Active is an interactive map of all marathons in the US... once we get an idea of who is interested we can figure out a good location from there that would be (relatively) convenient for most. Anchorage, AK may thus be out.

My window of opportunity is pretty much limited to June and after Labor Day. I probably won't be able to run much for a while after that 50 miler on May 9. I really haven't taken the time to look into races yet. The southern California idea sounds great though!
Ralph, you're going back so soon?

I doubt I would be up for another Half but depending on the race I would love to meet up and run a lesser race if it is being offered. Otherwise I could scope out post race festivity locations and keep the beers cold.

Anybody still down for doing the Big Bear race in Sept or the Silver Strand one in November? I'd be much more available to do airport runs, etc for Silver Strand...

How 'bout NY Marathon? I applied and its a long shot to get in (since I biffed my chance at qualifying to bypass the lottery).... but if I do get in, is anyone else going?

Big Bear, unfortunately, is definitely out due to timing. I might still be able to swing the Silver Strand half. It would have to be for fun/training, though. I am tentatively planning to run the GR full in late October and the HUFF 50K in December.
