Default Forerunner 305

Anyone have it? Any thoughts?

I'm married to my 301. I want a 305, but I will likely wait until the next model. I'm hoping the GPS technology in these watches improves, because it's pretty easy to lose signal on the 301 around trees, buildings, etc. One major plus is that the 305 doesn't look as dorky!

One thing I noticed with the 5 is that it has the foot pod option so you don't necessarily *have* to use the GPS. My nike set used that and it worked like a champ. Unfortunately there just doesn't seem to be any support for their stuff so I was looking at branching out.

Garmin seems to be the way to go. $220 for the 305 which has an ass load more features than the polar or timex. So many "cool" gadgets. I get all tingly thinking about them

Have it. Love it. It has changed the way I run. I'm less likely to stick to set routes, and to go adventuring. I've also chosen hillier terrain since I got it because the graphs are fun to look at. I hardly ever lose signal, but it does happen. Today I lost it on a route I've run a million times. But it's worked like a champ in deep woods. I like knowing my pace. Well, lately I strongly dislike knowing my pace, but that's a different problem I'd like to get a foot pod before the winter when I have to move to an indoor track. If I were running less and biking more, I'd get the cadence dohickey.

Life altering. Love it. If it was a chick, I'd marry it.

Seriously.
