Now I know why I'm a right-wing wacko

I'm not sure what you're implying. Are you saying that all true right-wingers are runners? According to the article that is what the French think and if that is the case do you agree with the French? How can a true conservative agree with the French... what a paradox! Or maybe the point was that you're wacko and the right-wing part is just a given. Of course, right-wing wacko is redundant
Man did you leave yourself wide open...
My favorite quote

No decent conservative would dream of jogging. It's a vulgar, untraditional form of self-advertisement that might frighten the horses. What's wrong with croquet?

Honestly I just thought it was an asinine story. I certainly do not put much stock into what this article says. It's kind of humorous that anyone would equate exercise to which side of the political spectrum one fell.
And the way I read the story was that all runners are conservative by the mere fact they run. My favorite quote:

"Jogging is of course about performance and individualism, values that are traditionally ascribed to the right," Odile Baudrier, editor of V02 magazine, a sports publication, told Libération.

Aren't all French leaders used to running? Or is that merely the pre-Cold War era Frenchmen?

I think the French are just idiots, and the only thing they got right was cheese, wine, and the Tour de France. Their wine isn't even that good. They're just jealous of their much cooler, better looking, Italian neighbors

You know I was just ribbing you, right?
Don't forget about their contributions to food. The croissant is genius. I also believe the French deserve full credit for the metrosexual.

Alain Finkielkraut, a leading French intellectual

What exactly does one have to do to be a "leading intellectual"? I'm guess it has nothing to do with actual work or anything reality based. Can I be a "following intellectual" and still have that after shower "man flex"?

Hahahahahaha!!! I wonder what the French think of Bill Clinton, whose extracurricular jogging is both vertical AND horizontal?

Of course! He's a runner, which makes his bodyfat go up. Don't the French know ANYTHING???

Of course, Jeff. I just thought this topic really played into my sig line, that's all!
Love me a croissant with lots o' butter. Of course, I call it a roll or bun. No silly pronunciation here! :P

Wasn't it King Arthur running from the French in Monty Python's the Holy Grail.
