Default Differences between foot strikes for running

What's the difference between forefoot, midfoot and heel strikes in relation to sprinting? Would one form be better than the other?

As a side interest, what are the different musculatures that are activated between these strikes??

Sprinting is all forefoot. If you aren't on your toes you're not sprinting. When I was sprinting competitively I owned a pair of spikes that didn't even have a heel

Yeah, what he said. I was lucky enough to catch Mike Mejia when he still had his gym up on Long Island, and he and Anthony Galvin (sp?) put together a forward-speed development routine that was heavy on movements where you stay up on your toes.
