As of right now Indy is 87% full. When I registered a week ago, it was at 73%. It's going fast, folks. I was ckecking out the course map and see that we'll get to run a lap around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Now how cool will that be?
So, obviously I'm in for Indy but, unfortutnately, LR is beginning to look a little tough (think $ ) to do. If I saw a lot of people commit I would probably find a way to hitchhike down.

Indy might be tough for me schedule-wise, but I'll try to swing it. Right now, that far in the future is quite hazy for me.

Oh come on!! Like the Marine Corps is so military-like that they won't give you the weekend off to travel home for the Indy Mini!!
I'm following this like Jim -- I have registered for Indy and am watching to see what interest there is for Little Rock. The super early registration for Indy caught me offguard!!

I haven't run consistently since February, but I think I'm going to register for the Indy Mini this weekend.

Lisa and I are both doing the Half-Mary in Little Rock this year. We may be doing an off-road duathlon the next weekend. I should probably train for this.

LOL!!! Little Rock is a great place to run. I was very impressed. You can go flat on the river or run the big hills! Very nice.

Runners,
I'm going to suggest that we drop the Little Rock race for this year. There haven't been any firm commitments from out-of-towners, and it has been two weeks since LR "won" the poll. Several of us have registered for the Indy Half already, since that one is already close to full.
I still think it would be fun to race in Little Rock and meet all the LR running crew. One problem is that the retreat is just a few weeks later. Maybe we could talk JP into scheduling the retreat the same weekend as the races one year. The other problem is that there just aren't very many runners on JPF!!!
The link for the Indy Half and 5K is in my signature!!! Sign up immediately if you can make it!!

FYI- The Mini filled up on Monday. That's a record for earliest sell-out. 35,000 spots have been filled. WOW!

Whoops, I guess that changes what I wrote in my PM Dave. Maybe if kmwest can't make it, his spot will go up for sale?

Woops!!! Why is this race so popular?? Is it because it finishes on the Indy Speedway?? LOL.
Is the 5K sold out as well??
I still think an adventure race would be fun sometime as well, if we can find a convenient one and get everybody coordinated.

5K is not sold out yet.
Also Dave, the Speedway is actually smack dab in the middle of the race. It finishes near downtown. I think the fact that it is part of the 500 festivities is a big drawing point, though. It seems like half the people I know in Indiana have run in it at some point in their lives. For some reason, this race draws a lot of community unity. (Nice rhymes.) The whole month of May is a celebration of the 500 and the Mini is the starting point. I never understood how much the 500 meant to the people of Indy until I moved here.
