Default Looking for video of running style

I recently read a very interesting article in the July/August issue of Men's Health about running. I'm sure many of you have read it and it is the one where the author talks about the Tarahumara tribe in Mexico that can seemingly run and live forever.

But I found it very interesting when he talked about shortening the stride and running on the balls of your feet instead of landing on your heels. The description given of how to run better is as follows:

Keep your back erect, head steady, arms high, elbows driving and feet touching down quickly on the forefoot and kicking back toward your butt. In addition, keep your hips dead under your shoulders and dead above your feet.

After I read that I remembered there was a running forum on JP Fitness and after reading though some of the posts it seems most of you would agree that this is a better way to run.

So I'm going to try this tomorrow morning when I go run but if there were a video out there of this that would really help me visualize what this looks like and how it will feel. I don't run a whole lot (usually only 3-4 miles a day) but after 10 years of this my left knee isn't what it used to be. Kinda weird because I can squat a couple hundred pounds and not hurt my knee but sometimes pulling off my shoe or sock can hurt my knee. So if changing my running style can alleviate some of my injuries I'd be in heaven!

Try http://posetech.com. There are videos, articles, etc. on the site. The forums there are helpful as well.

BTW, the adaptation to running in a forefoot style takes a lot of work. Usually 2-3 months.

Good Luck!
