Default Running a 5k this weekend?

Okay - I'm doing a 5k this weekend so I thought I'd start a thread. If you are doing a race this weekend, post it here and come back afterwards and share your times.

My goal is a sub 26:00 run. (would be a PB)

I believe ODBsGirl is doing the Race for the Cure. I think she is going for a sub 30:00. I believe she can do it.

Of course she will be warming up by riding her bike with me to the race start from our house. Tough Chick!

Good Luck to both of you. I have a wedding to go to so I had to cancel my run this weekend. I am running a 5k next Saturday and I am still looking for that elusive sub 30 finish.

Next weekend we are doing the ruggedman triathlon. 8.5 mile bike ride (in the mountains), 7 mile kayak down the river followed by a 3.5 mile run. Should be interesting.

No race for me this weekend. A 22 miler planned, though. I'm tentatively planning on a 5k in 2 weeks, though I don't know yet. That will be 8 days before my marathon.

22 miler is one heck of a run! I think I'll wish you luck on that!

28:50, probably not an absolute PB but it's an "official race time" PB. 6.5 mile bike ride to the race start-8.5 miles home back over the bigdambridge! Good day. 3 women I work with and one of their daughters plus one of the small one's softball teammate's sister all ran in under 27 minutes (a couple of them way under)and got the cool medal. NEXT YEAR I'M GOING TO GET ONE!!

Lisa

Congrats, Lisa!! Some bling sounds like a great goal for next year. Is the bigdambridge that pedestrian bridge over the river that connects to the River Trail?? I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that. I wish it had been open, because I wanted to run across it!

Thanks! Yup that bigdambridge is that bigdambridge over the river. We rode East from the parking lot at the new bridge to Downtown for the race this morning. It's not a pretty ride, into city streets with stop lights etc. So on the way back we rode across the Broadway bridge to North Little Rock where we could catch THEIR side of the millennium trail. It's a lovely ride. So lovely that we saw A LOT of cyclists and runners. It was so nice to be able to get to the point where we normally go "okay, time to turn around and go back" and be able to keep right on truckin.
Now you'll have to come back again sometime just so you can run over it. Awesome views, in fact watch for pics, we stopped to take a couple this morning.
Bling is good. At least I got a bunch of other freebies today like yogurt, smoothies, and a butt load of sunchips in pink bags

I saw the 42000+ runners on the news! WOW. I, on the other hand was back in my little home town running their 5k. Very small compared to the Race for the Cure. It was one of the hilliest courses I have EVER run. It was killer. I did OK considering the hills. 26:46 Was good enough for me to take 2nd in my age category. I got a plaque. woohoo!

Thnx!

Considering the fact I just entered for the kyool T-shirt:p ...I made out ok. Even ended up being picked for a little door prize.

I can't believe how sore I got after this little run! I did an 8 mile run on Sunday as part of my marathon training but took it REALLY easy.

Wish I lived closer to Sheridan, heck I'd do some hill training there. I have a few hills in my neighborhood but nothing like what I saw there. I think they must have done a fly over and picked all the hills and then connected the dots to form that course.

My time was pretty slow...but hey...a Win is a Win.
