Talking

I just sold my old hardtail, and I'm considering investing the $$$ into my new baby. Since I weigh a buck twenty soaking wet, I'm trying to shave weight off the bike while adding muscle to my body. Some questions: I really like the bars that I use, and I'm considering adding a seatpost to match. The one I'm looking at is the EC70. Has anyone used the Easton Carbon Fiber Seatposts? If so, what do you think of them? I'm also considering a Chris King Headset...Any suggestions? I have $300.00 to tweak my bike up with. Or, I could save the $$$, sell my road bike, and invest in a new road bike.

Hm... or you could save your $$ so you could afford another month of training.

Already planned on that. I'm having good results with Josh. That man is doing amazing things, and he takes my grumbling so well (I grumbled a lot this morning.) So, other than that...any suggestions?

You know, that $300 would buy a lot of tequila in South Padre next month. Hmmm, I wonder how much riding I'd have to do to burn those calories? Just a thought.

Hey Sarah,

I don't know if you are familiar with the site, but check out seatpost reviews at mtbreview.com . There are 13 rider reviews of the EC70; esp. check out the negative comments for recurring any recurring themes. The site is an invaluable resource for me.

PS: My suggestion: if you enjoy road riding, get a new road bike - you can get some great deals in August on 2003 models, or you could hit e-bay for some phenomenal bargains. The change of pace on the road will definitely help your trail riding.

Yeah, I've read all the reviews at mtbreview.com. A new road bike would rock. The money isn't burning a whole in my pocket, yet. I was just making a wish list. I had a dream about my road bike last night. Maybe that's a sign?
