Bleh. Yesterday snow, rain and sleet and today 30 mph gusts and wind chills around 20 made me sleep in this morning. We're supposed to get a 70 degree day this week though, the first time it will hit 70 in almost 6 months in Chicago! Oct 21st was the last time. It HAS been a long winter - it wasn't my imagination.

The Vredestein Tri-Comps in the color I ordered for this season are still back-ordered; I'm putting on my VTCs from last year - time to take the winter tires off.

Supposed to be close to 70 today with light winds, brought the bike in to work and will try to make some time at lunch for a ride.

Very long winter.

It's amazing how much the weather can affect your work-out performance. Now that we're starting to see signs of spring, I'm on a role. Warm weather just makes me want to keep moving. I think I might have that seasonal depression thing.

Finally, warmth (relatively speaking). For the first time in a ride this season, I wasn't cold (starting time temp today was a balmy 47 degrees). 50 road miles; great ride - amazing what your body can do when it isn't trying to warm itself.

Plus, I'm getting a new kit tomorrow and my tires are finally supposed to come in at the end of the week. I'm getting my bike overhauled then too, and my one big decision is handlebar tape color (red, white, or back to black?). Life is good.

It was 89 here today! We skipped spring altogether.

Wah, wah, cry me a river.

Going back to the low 50s and rainy all next week, so we enjoyed hitting 70 this week.

I'm digging spring so far. I seem to have gotten an early jump on bike fitness and am riding great even though I weigh more than I ever have (and more than at this time of the year in any past season). Once the weight falls off, I should be faster at just the right time.

Got in 65 cold miles yesterday, which is a good thing because right now it's snowing outside my window.
