First 29er singletrack ride
It really was a blast...I took out the F29 from Cannondale (Finally! a 29er I can ride) but the bar clipped a tree and I went over. I really liked it though. Once you get the wheel rolling, it carries you along.

Get your story right - the tree clipped your bar. Probably the same tree that took out my shoulder.
What did you hit that caused the line on your back??
PS: Nice Spongebob bottoms. My 6 y/o loves him!

It was super rocky and technical and I was descending fast (20ish), so maybe the line is a product of a rock scraping when I slid.

Ouch! Bending that elbow is going to be a reminder for a few days.
I want to try a 69er, but not as a rigid single speed. I'll wait to see where they go with that, but it might be the future of mtn biking.

haha, it wasn't intentional. I was referring to the Trek 69er. But what good would a 69er be if it wasn't rigid, right?
But $2400??? Gimme a break.

29 front rolls over everything, 26 rear means shorter stays and better power transfer. Makes sense in theory, but 5" of rear motion and $1200 sounds a lot better to me.

It's actually funny you should mention the 69er. That's the exact thing she was talking about tonight.

Just a quick update guys. She was still having some mobility issues and fairly severe pain this evening so we headed to the ER for some xrays. First degree separated shoulder. Put her in a sling for a week or so and said that once it's off she may start adding things (riding, climbing, paddling) back in small steps.

I went over today as well. Now my injuries are not nearly as cool as yours, in fact so uncool I am not going to post em!
After reading the end of the thread, I am glad I landed relatively easily.
Heal up quickly!

Man, S - No wonder we couldn't find the fish fry last night. It was in the emergency room!
ODBsGRL had an accident yesterday too. We were going across the main street bridge (in the pedestrian walkway which is very narrow because we were playing with our skills going up the ADA ramp). We were passing some oncoming riders and she clipped a handle bar on the railing. Down she went. Her knee is swollen, she has some nice road rash and she hurt her wrist. Worst thing, she scratched her bike and her brand new odometer went into the river.
