Default Brake upgrade

Is it worth the money to upgrade my mtn bike from v brakes to disc? I was going to look into the cost. My bike has the brackets for the calipers, but I might need new hubs. Not sure if it is worth it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Also if I don't have jury duty next month I might join one of the riding teams, as I have started riding my bike to work at the beginning of May.

Do the V brakes do everything you need? Then no.

Do you ever wish you had better stopping power in the rain/mud/slop? Ever wish your brakes modulated a bit better? Ever wish you had another bike part that squealed when wet or could cut off your finger? Then yes.

I love the discs on my MTB. We've got them on our tandem too.
