Default The cycling challenge.......

really is motivating. Thats it's purpose. No?

Well....I made a commitment to 150 miles again, which is already a testiment to the challenges ability to motivate. I don't normally do that many miles in a month. However, I know I SHOULD be doing that many and more to compete with my dirt riding buddies.

So what has the challenge done for me this month? I was looking at my goal. And looking at my lack of riding this month...and something had to give. The goal can't be changed. So the riding had to go UP! The cycling challenge servers it's purpose for me!!!

I have commuted to work the past two days for the first time EVER! I had been working out the logistics in my mind, but hadn't made the commitment. Well, in reality....I just didn't have the motivation to do it. The cycling challenge has lifted me up.

I have a great commute. It's only about 20 minutes. How is that great you ask? Well, right in the middle of my commute is my normal White Rock Lake road ride. So I can make my commute 10 miles or 50 miles, by doing laps at the lack.

Yesterday I did 12 miles on my first commute. This morning I did 22 miles. So I have 34 miles that would have NEVER materialized. I will be adding commuting miles next week.

THANKS FOR THE CYCLING CHALLENGE!

My May riding
Tuesday: My normal dirt tuesday ride was done at the lake due to wet trails. 34 miles of road.
Commuting on Thursday - 12 miles
Commuting on Friday - 22 miles

68 miles total

Great job Flee!

That is exactly what I use this cycling challenger for as well. Motivation to go when I don't feel like it. April was horrid for a lot of reasons out of my control, but it is nice to have an extra push out the door.
