April Cycling Challenge
Like I said, why not?
2 teams. Each person should get monthly mileage goals in to this thread by Wed. April 4th. I'll split the teams into 2, and then you will earn points based on the percentage completed of your initial goal. The team with the most points wins.
Next month, we'll do a similar "race" like we're doing in the running forum, I just want to get an idea as to how many miles each team will be riding.
Anybody in?

I'll shoot for 200 miles. Just need to find someone to push me while I light up!

Can't resist, I'm in. I'll try for about 100k a week, which works out to about a total of 250mi.

Cool! I'm glad some of you guys are in. Maybe, in tribute to Kevin, we'll "ride" from Brissie to Sydney next month...

I'm in, but I'm not in a position to guestimate mileage right now. I'm on a family road trip all next week but will try to shoot for 25 miles/week for the rest of the month. With our springtime weather, I think I'm buying myself lots of time in the garage. Thank god for the iPod.

I'm in for 200 miles. Are we counting miles put in on a stationary bike or spinning classes?

We count treadmill miles in the running challenge, so I think trainer miles should count. If you have a way to gauge spin class miles, then by all means.

You gotta watch out for those bike commuter people. They can stack up the mileage. Plus, riding a bike is her job (she works at a local bike shop and leads weekend rides all the time). Still 500? 125 per week?
Lisa and I each just did 28 today. Nice ride with a sweet hill in the middle.

I'm late! Dang it I'm in too since I know I'll end up riding on the weekends with ODB most of the time. I'll go 125 miles. I got 28 on the 1st of the month.

Dang, I'm late too! Because I do 4 spin classes a week, hard to guage mileage. If I go by calories on my HR monitor, those 4 classes are equal to about 72 miles.
Yesterday, did 56+ miles in crazy winds. 30 mph with 40-45 mph gusts meant that three times I almost was blown over by the gusts. And into traffic. Not good, but I survived my long ride for this early season. Luckily cars were giving cyclists plenty of berth after seeing them weaving across the road like a drunk at closing time.
