Default What to look for/ask for in a trainer/gym contract?

Quick question, I work for a small gym in Massachusetts that is kind of "up and coming" and trying to take the business to the next level. I signed my first ever summer long contract with them which had me making about $45 for a group of 4 training session. I also had to train a few hours per week for free because people needed coverage and I was trying to help them gym work during a financially hard time, and I had a few cleaning duties because there are only 5-6 trainers (including the owners).

There are not a whole lot of policies/structures in place as far as salary, benefits, bonuses or even how to handle new client distrubution amongst trainers, but things seem very negotiable, so I just wanted to get a better idea of what standard rates for group training are, or what things I should ask for in contract negotiations. I really have no idea what is "fair" in a contract, so I'm just trying to educate myself a little more.

If anyone has any thoughts or resources that might help, I would greatly appreciate it!
