Default good exercise bands

I want to start training a friend of mine who was in a car accident over a year ago and has some back and neck issues. I was thinking using exercise bands might be a low impact way for her to build some strength, but a lot of the bands I see don't seem too sturdy. Do you have any recommendations? I'd want the bands with handles. Thanks...

GoFit has bands available at most retail outlets like Dicks or Target. They're ok.

Hi,
I use Slastix tubing. They are more expensive but last WAY longer. After I had a "regular" band snap and hit a pregnant lady in the stomach (nothing serious but she also could have fallen as she was doing rows), I only use covered tubing to assure safety. For people's at home programs or corrective programs I buy boxes of flat tubing and cut the necessary length.

I still have some regular tubing that I use for outside training but only with bootcamp type clientale.

Slastix™ - Stroops.com

Salut!
Kaisa

Kaisa, Thanks! Those are exactly what I'm looking for! I've seen the covered tubing before but couldn't remember the name. What type of flat tubing do you buy? I have some Therabands, which are pretty good.

Hi Piper,
For flat tube I ordered "Flexaband" to see if I notice a difference from Theraband and so far i haven't. Flexaband is a bit cheaper here in Spain than Theraband.

Salut,
Kaisa

You brought up a thread idle for a month, after you haven't posted for almost two months, just to be a dick? Classy.

But, since we're here, to the OP: I have Thera Bands and like them a lot.

Yeah, real classy compared to someone that revives a thread that was two months old to insert a link for an affiliate program.

Next time I'll offer a hug first.

Actually Ryan made a great point... It's not cool to use this place to plug affiliate code for your stuff without permission. Not that people don't do it all the time, but I don't particularly care for it. With all the time and energy I have put into this place I find it inconsiderate at best, downright insulting at worst.

I agree with the point, not with the timing. The thread was dead, as was the spam, so tossing it back to the top of the board was counterproductive. That's all.

Yeah, I guess so. Course, this forum isn't quite as busy as the other forums. That thread was probably still on the front page, and I often make the mistake of not checking the dates of the original post. The training log section is crazy... If you only post once a day you'll have to go search for your thread on page 10!

My bad, expression web was open and I just copied and pasted the link. If I was putting affiliate links on purpose you think I'd put something you get .50 cents for?... And yeah, the JC predator are still the best bands out there, just ask JC

If you could send his number my way that would be cool. I've got a few things I would like to ask him.

I like lifeline, but the only real comparison I have is the cheap ones that most gym and big gym suppliers sell. If you would like to try the lifelines out let me know. I'll send you an affiliate link.

God I hope that person training his friend is qualified. There are so many people out there who think listening to a podcast and reading a few articles makes them qualified to sort out serious rehabilitation issues that if done wrong could cause serious harm. Only today I was listen to thefitcast.com to someone who was "rehabbing" their father who had a serious spinal injury with planks and other core work The father was in pain during the exercise and asked the hosts, who told him to go a qualified person!
