I heard this one from Alwyn, although I'm not sure of the origin:

"You need to calm the f**k down!" or several similar phrases...

This is too darn funny.. ok let me think of one hmmm...

Ok. I know you said what is my FAV personal training quote, but I didn't have one, so I went to a website, and well here is what i found. Enjoy

Those who think they have not time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness. ~Edward Stanley

Fitness - if it came in a bottle, everybody would have a great body. ~Cher

The only exercise some people get is jumping to conclusions, running down their friends, side-stepping responsibility, and pushing their luck!

A man's health can be judged by which he takes two at a time - pills or stairs. ~Joan Welsh

If your dog is fat, you're not getting enough exercise.

Whenever I feel like exercise, I lie down until the feeling passes. ~Robert M. Hutchins

OK NOW FOR MY "THREE FAVS"

The word aerobics came about when the gym instructors got together and said, "If we're going to charge $10 an hour, we can't call it jumping up and down." ~Rita Rudner

I believe that the Good Lord gave us a finite number of heartbeats and I'm damned if I'm going to use up mine running up and down a street. ~Neil Armstrong

I am pushing sixty. That is enough exercise for me. ~Mark Twain

Definately the "we" part. "This is going to fun". Or when we are changing up a routine and I say "Ok all new stuff". I cant tell if they smile or grimace.

Yeah when they hear all new stuff they play on being scared lol. For the most part the clients who get the good results embrace it.

Sometimes when I get a killer effort from a client who works hard every time, I will say "Great job today. Imagine if you actually pushed yourself." I am always sure to say it with a smile though. They know when I say that, that they worked hard.

I think I'm going to have to use this one.. These are the types of things I was looking for. Not so much actual quotes, but the quotes are cool too.

"We'll start with a light warmup...."
- Master Jared Circle

Half hour later our heads our spinning, legs are weak, and that "Oh S@#t I'm gonna puke" feeling is in full force. Then we get onto the daily workout, including sparring.

That's confidence and anytime you have somone with that type of belief in their abilities you have to be impressed and want to learn from them.

My favorite has got to be "suck it up"

Also another was a G.I. Jane Fan, she used to use this quote but she summed it up a bit more than the original:

"Pain is your friend, your ally, it will tell you when you are seriously injured, it will keep you awake and angry, and remind you to finish the job and get the hell home. But you know the best thing about pain? It lets you know you're not dead yet!"

She was a bit of a sicko to say the least...I loved her.

I use my signature saying for both my general exercise clients and trapeze students: can't means won't, and won't means push-ups.
