Default Corrective training

I would like to know more about corrective training just so I can expand my knowledge in the health and fitness field, but I'm not sure where to start or which sources to go with. So far, these are some of the sources I've come up with.

Gary Cook - Product - New! Corrective Exercise Package

Eric Cressey & Mike Robetson

Greg Roskopf
_______________Muscle Activation Techniques____________________ ______________________________ ______________________________ _____________

Any suggestions?

Looks like a great list to start with. I have gotten a LOT from Gray Cook, Eric Cressey, and Mike Robertson. Not as familiar with Roskopf.

Have to recommend anything you can find from Bill Hartman as well. You can find a lot of his old posts in here (do a search).

The topic of my 2006 summit was Kinetic Chain Dysfunction, which was headlined by Bill. He also did a special presentation at my 2007 summit on Shoulder injuries and rehab.

Here is the link for the cart.

I also recommend Gray Cook's Athletic Bodies in Motion, which you can find at Perform Better.

Athletic Body in Balance. And you can also find it on Amazon for a much cheaper price.

Thanks... I knew that didn't sound right. And I even own the damn thing. How pathetic is that?

I think I've actually called it the same thing before when talking about the book with someone, then realized later I had the name wrong.

If you have the $$ for continuing education classes, I'd recommend Gray's FMS course, and any course you can get to by Gary Gray ...

Also, to really understand corrective exercise you need to understand muscle imbalance. And the best way to understand muscle imbalance is by knowing the anatomy inside and out. If you haven't already, a good human anatomy course with cadaver dissection is best, but many places also offer good "functional anatomy" courses.

I'll take a look at Gray's FMS. I took an anatomy class this pass semester and passed it already but it was just systemic anatomy so there wasn't a lot that was covered in terms of functional anatomy.

I think that only nursing students are required to take the cadaver anatomy course. A basic introductory anatomy course is all that's required for us Kinesiology majors.
