Default ACE personal training test

I bought the ACE pt book a few years ago and have yet to take the test. it sure is expensive! I am just wondering if there is any major difference in the computer vs. paper test? The computer test is about $20 more expensive but you find out if you passed right after the test instead of having to wait 6 weeks which is SO worth it!

Is this a hard test? Is it worth the extra money to buy the "study guides" or that sort of stuff online. I am a health major so I am familiar with a lot of this stuff already. thanks!

I took their online practice test and passed it without studying any of their material. So the study guides really arent worth it. If I had to reccomend anything, it would just be practice exams. If you fail, then you know what you need to brush up on from there.

Theres no difference between the computer or written test.

I just recently got certified with ACE and Cooper-CPT and those diagnostic tests on ACE's website are a joke and not indicitive at all of the actual exam. The actual exam focuses much more on professional liability, safety, CAD risk factors and nutrition. Had 5-6 questions on anatomy/physiology/biomechanic s. Good luck!

I took the ACE exam a few years before I got my CSCS. In comparing the two, it struck me that the ACE exam is structured to help you pass, to encourage the number of newly certified trainers in the industry. It's multiple choice answers are easy to narrow down to the right answer. Even when you're not sure, you can usually rule out two or three of the four possible answers. The test was easy for this reason. I also agree that the content of the exam isn't really focused on anatomy and biomechanics, as stated above. The questions I missed were all about insurance.

The CSCS, on the other hand, is designed to exclude. You have to really know the answer to a question, because several of the multiple choice possibilities could be right. This is one of the reasons the ACE is not as well respected as a certification.

Default Ace Test

Are the questions on the ACE Personal Training exam all multiple choice?
Are there really 150 questions?
What areas should I focus on when studying?
