Default NSCA recognized in CANADA

I am curious as to whether or not the NSCA CSCS certification or any other American Certs for that matter are recognized in Canada. Do Canadian employers recognize NSCA, NASM, or ACSM, or ACE. I am currently ACE certified and am probably moving to Canada at the end of this summer. I am working on my NSCA CSCS cert right now and am curious if they hold it to the same standards as we do??? Thanks

try here
Can-Fit-Pro

they will tell you what is compatible. I think ACE is same as PTS Cert here in Canada
hope this helps.

Yes, all the certs you mentioned are recognized here in Canada. But, depending on your employer's wishes, you might need to get additional Canadian credentials as well - every province has its own association. Or Can Fit Pro is a big national one. You might also want to check out CSEP Member Site (Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology).

What province are you moving to?

We are considering a move to Vancouver, my gf is from Toronto, I am from Chicago. I am currently ace certified and stuyding for the cscs. I think I will email some local gyms and see what they say about it. I also am a little concerned with visa issues. Why would a Canadian employee hire an American when they can skip the visa hassles and just hire a citizen of their own country.

Hi,

If you move to B.C., you can contact the British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA - British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association) about what you might have to do to transfer your certifications - if you even have to.

Although, you bring up a good point about the working visa situation ...

Good luck with it!
