I'm a psychology major (beginning my PhD next year) willing to practice as a sport psychologist or at least integrate physical activity in my future practice. As of now though, I would like to get some knowledge in this field and maybe offer consultation services as a sport psychology consultant within the next year.
The American Board of Sport Psychology (ABSP) offers a certification which would let me do this without having a Masters or a PhD yet, while some other organizations need them (such as the Association for Applied Sport Psychology or the Canadian Sport Psychology Association). I will probably have to take that route because there's no sport psychology specialization at my university and I would have to spend 30 000$ for an internship in Western Canada (I'm in the East...).
Did anyone hear about the ABSP certification ?
