Default From Zero to Hero...

Hey everyone...my name's Quinn, and I've just recently started lifting. I'm 19, 185#, 6'0", a college sophomore at Maryland, and never really even set foot in a weight room until 4 weeks ago. I'd go with average build if I had to describe myself...not thin but not overweight. Thankfully, I met and started dating a forum member here, bundy (Allison). I taught her how to snowboard this past winter, and she's been teaching me about and getting me more and more into lifting. I'm really into soccer (both as a fan and as a player) and try to play (goalkeeper) at least once a week. I also love to snowboard in the winter. I'm really into cars too, BMW in particular, so if I'm not doing the above, lifting, or school, I'm probably thinking about, driving, or working on them.

We just started another stage of workouts (week 5), so the past 4 weeks have been a sort of intro/learning period (and we missed a few workouts too). I won't include all the workouts, but only the main points:

Two weeks of Bench, no prior numbers, hit 115 the first time, and 135 the second.

Three weeks of Squats, no priors, 165 week 1, 185 week 2, and 225 week 3.

Started at 20 lbs. the first week of DB Bent Rows, now at 35, week 3.

Started Lunging 30 lbs (each hand), now at 40.

Couldn't finish both sets Incline DB (2x20) with 15's, now can (but no increase in weight).

Started DB curling at 20lbs, now doing 22.5 (3 sets of 10).

Started Rear Delt Flies at 5lbs, 3 sets of 10, now at 8lbs.

Couldn't do Seated Power Cleans, because of intense pain in left shoulder. Unsure of why that is...as it's the only exercise (let alone the only movement) where I feel any pain. And this was with very low weight.

That's it for now. I plan to regularly post workouts, in a formal fashion. Any comments or criticism is welcome. This board looks to have a lot of great info, and I can only hope I'll learn more and more as time goes on. As for goals, I'd like to trim down a little, or I guess decreasing my body fat % would be more realistic, and obviously getting stronger and healthier. I'll add more tomorrow, but it's late and I'm sleepy!

Ok, yesterday's workout (reps then weight):
Monday, Feb 23 - ME Upper
Close Grip Bench Press
4x65 4x85 4x95 4x115
Decline DB bench
20ex25 20ex25
Barbell Rows
8x60 8x70 8x80
Rear Delt Flies
10ex8 10ex8 10ex8
Hammer Curls
10ex22.5 10ex22.5 10ex22.5

Just a note: Allison (bundy) and I have been doing the same workouts. I don't know much about the specifics of lifting, so this seems fine for now. It's been nice to see progession week-to-week, and I feel really good. If anyone has anything to add or something I should change/try in the workouts as the days go by, I'd love to hear it.

Ok, tonights:

Monday, Mar 9 - ME Upper
Close Grip Bench Press
4x85 4x100 0x115 4x95
Decline DB bench
20ex30 20ex30

Rear Delt Flies

Workout was a little lame today. Have had two days in a row playing soccer (goalkeeper) , and couldn't do anything on the Bench, and decided to take it easy on the rest. However, I did did more on the rows, flies, and curls, so that was good I guess.
