good call, dont worry if nothing touches the first few sessions either. if the shirt is really tight it may take a few days for it to break in.

my old katana took a good 6 weeks to get anything to touch in.. my new one took 1 workout.. but its bigger.

yeah you will be ready by february. It took me 6 weeks to learn my katana, that was longer then most people take, and the katana is slightly stronger then an f6. You will be fine.

K thank you. Does anyone use the 5/3/1 method for bench and dead lift too?

wendlers 5/3/1 method and the method i told you about using 5rm/3rm/1rm are pretty different keep in mind.

method doesnt really work to well for shirted bench, could work for deads.

i think that i am going to try the 5rm/3rm/1rm for dead lifting as well. Staggering between dead and squat ie

squat-deload, Dead-5rm
Squat-5rm, Dead-3m
Squat- 3rm, Dead- 1rm
Squat- 1rm, Dead- deload

Does that make sense or should i have them on the same monthly cycle

That makes sense, although that is going to be quite a hard cycle. I may consider doing the deads 5/3/1 but dont goto a 5rm, leave a little in the tank.

7 months is a ton of time..

just keep doing what you are doing. when you are about 3 months out you can start a bit of a peaking cycle for the squat if you want.

I am ~ 6 months out from my next comp (unless something else comes up). my plan is to just get stronger for 6 months

did you try it with the straps down for a few sets? that may help. It takes time. There is almost no way you will get depth with 405lbs unless the suit is to big. Will take much more, which you will be able to do once you get used to things.

gear can be a big pain in the ass to learn, stick with it and you will figure it out.
