The thing is, I'm always "before a contest", as soon as I finish one competition, I start a cycle for the next pretty much. Might take a break after the november comp until next april's junior nationals though, I can fuck around a bit then.
I don't think it will make much difference, you won't lose strength in that 3 weeks, but then again, your missing out on some training sessions where you could gains strength, and still come into the meet fully recovered I think.
For me:
Last deadlift on the 3rd
Last Bench on the 6th
Last Squat on the 7th
Compete on the 13th
2 and 3 weeks before my meet was the time i was hitting huge prs! I love that time because it's crunch time, and you have a sense of urgency. At least that's how it is in strongman. hahahaha

I will be working on speed and what not.
I have no clue if it will work, just taking some advice from mr simmons, so it will probally work.
For a raw contest i would not do a 3 week deload, its just not needed. since im squating weights bigger then i can actually handle raw, i think that it puts more stress on my body/mind ?
i think that a single ply meet would be somewhere in the middle which looks to be what you are doing.

seems like most plers (that dont train linear) have their heaviest/hardest workouts about from 8 weeks out to 4 weeks out. This is where i am at, so im trying to push it.

Comments:
-Week 3 Begins, good day today, smoked all the board presses, and 5kg PR from last week too!
-For the next 2 sessions I'll just do speed work for the board presses, and heavy work on Saturdays only
-I hope the straps up gives me a good carryover for tomorrows deads, 192.5kgx4x3 is going to be tough!

I'am about to tell you about the worst type of cockblock, the legal cockblock. I was having a party at my house, shit was bumpin, about 80-90 people there. Hella T-vixens everywhere, And I was without a doubt the most jacked guy there. So I'am getting my pimp on when the cops show up TWICE and make everybody leave. I called one chick and had her on her way back to the house to give me a good old pole polishing, when my roomate starts hitting cars... I freak out, rip him out of his jeep, park it, and then rip a stop sign out of the ground.
Well I guess she pulled up just to see me ripping the pole outa the ground with all kinds of viens comin outta me, needless to say, she was scared shitless and decided to leave. Moral of the story the legal cockblock is the worst, you can't do shit about it. Except maybe hiring a full-time lawyer...mmmmmm..... -sasquatch99

-Awesome session, killing it on everything tonight
-Deads were great off the floor, last reps of each set slowed at lockout though
-Felt really fresh after my pulls, lower back felt fantastic like I had just lifted 100kg lol, compared to last week when i was pretty wrecked
-DB Rows are getting there too, I look forward to chucking up some bigger numbers on those
I got my new squat suit, fuck yeah! 36 centurion nx super+ narrow stance
I'm tyring to get it on now, currently I have it about 2 inches above the knee, using suit slippers. This suit is going to be real bitch to get on/off!!! I've nothing to do today until I go to the gym, so I'm going to see if I can get it on in the next few hours...
Okay so I've been trying to get it on for the last 30 minutes, getting closer now, bout 4 inches to go i guess, suit is pulled over the teardrop of the quads now, hopefully I should have it in the next 30 minutes...
hahahaha screw you, I have a huge teardrop muhahahahhaa, My quads got fairly developed as before this year, I was squatting high bar ass to grass, now I'm a powerlifter with sweet teardrops hah!
also, not really much progress on the suit, been taking a rest haha, but I hear the first time is usually alot harder to get these suits on, I'll keep working at it! I'm at the point where I can feel my heart beat in my legs now where the suit is haha
I gave up on it this time, but got it close, I'll try again tonight with someone helping out. I'll try 1-2 times on saturday by myself, and I'll get into it on Sunday and squat in it. By then it should be heaps easier to get on, and i wont need to do anything but use it.
