13/08/08 Wednesday

Deadlift
---suit on(fusion)---
65kg x 6
110kg x 4
---belt on---

155kg x 2
---straps up, no belt---
185kg x 1
200kg x 1
---straps down, belt on---
182.5kg x 4(4 sets) PR

Speed Squat
65kg x 3
85kg x 3(6 sets)

GHR's
BW x 8(2 sets)
5kgx x 6

DB Rows
105lbs x 8(2 sets) PR
105lbs x 10 PR

Comments:

-Deadlifts came up pretty well, 7.5kg PR on those today. Wasn't fun though!
-GHR's felt pretty good today, feeling stronger on them even though I haven't done them in a couple weeks
-105lbs felt like a twig on the DB Rows, felt much stronger than before on these too, will either do more reps or go to 115lbs next week
-Also, I have a profile now haha

Pretty sore from yesterdays pulls. Hams, lats, traps are a bit sore, lower back is fried. I can't wait until my 5 days of pure ass-sitting before the meet

Might see if I can go to my parents house and eat a steak after my last training sesson haven't had steak in months!

ground beef is cheap too. 1/2lb a day + 2 protein shakes (2-3 scoops of protein)= 150-200g of protein.

16/08/08 Saturday

Bench Press
20kg x 10 raw
--shirt on(42 f6)---
65kg x 4
95kg x 3
110kg x 1
120kg x 1 Paused ties PR
110kg x 2 PR ***
110kg x 3 PR

Lat Pulldown
120lbs x 6 NG
120lbs x 12
140lbs x 10
120lbs x 10

DB Farmers Walks
65's, 85's, 10 trips in total

3-Board Press
120kg x 4(3 sets) PR

Hammer Curls

40lbs x 8
50lbs x 6
50lbs x 8

Comments:

-*** The third rep on this set, i dropped the bar too high, and the bar hung up about an inch from my chest and wouldn't touch, so I pressed it back up
-120kg paused ties my comp PR, but it was much easier this time, looking to press over 130kg in the comp
-Shirt seemed a bit tighter, might have gained some weight hah
-Forgot about board presses lol, so did them when I remembered them hah, repping 5kgs over my full ROM max easily is great, my lockout strength is coming along nicely, will be locking out 125kg next week, then 130 and 135 weeks after, sweet...

17/08/08 Sunday

Squat
---suit bottoms on---
65kg x 6
110kg x 4
---straps up---
140kg x 2
---belt on---
170kg x 1 PR
155kg x 4(4 sets) PR

Overhead Press
65kg x 3
70kg x 1
75kg x 1
80kg x 1 PR

Bent-over Row

65kg x 8
85kg x 8
95kg x 6(2 sets)

GHR's
5kg x 6(3 sets)

Comments:
-Good session, my form improved thoughout the sets with my coach giving me some tips/cue's. All of the reps were pretty decent, I think I've eliminated lifting the hips first altogether, haven't done this in months.
-Now I just need to focus on basics: keeping tight, chest up, driving elbows under, getting a good bounce at the bottom and driving hard through the middle
-While doing OH presses I got a "why the fuck are you doing that" from my coach. He said chucking them in on Sundays after benching heavy on Saturdays is not a good idea, that i should give pressing work a rest on Sundays, and that it was too close to competition to be doing shit like that. Good point actually, I was fatigued from yesterdays benching, 80kg wasn't as fast as it should have been, so I called it there. I might chuck them in early next cycle, pretty sure I'll chuck in some power cleans then too.
-Bodyweight 85.2kgs with some food and liquid in me, I should be about 84kgs dry I think, I'll make weight easy. Not sure how accurate the scales were at my parents place though, will weigh in on accurate scales next week.
-3 more weeks of training - knee wraps for squats, straps up for deads, hell yeah!

Seriously though, if you want to be competitive, I think it is your responsibility to use the best gear legal in your fed, and maximize your carryover - you gotta do everything within the rules to get a bigger total!
