It works, its just slow and boring

Ive changed my views on it quite a bit though, I would never train quite like Simon, but I would train how jeremy frey on elite sets up his block peridization (I believe Mike T the ipf guy trains similar, could be wrong).

I don't have anything against simons training, it just isn't what I like to do. Can't argue that he has had very consistent results, overall far more consistent then me.

Now its too bad consistency doesn't win you 1st hahaha im kidding.

Thanks guys, my squat is getting up there now. The open national squat record of 277.5kg seems within sight now! Junior record is only 265.5kg.

Mike T system I hear is more similar to sheiko, but I don't have any real experience with it, I will borrow his book from a training partner and post a review soon.

What I'm doing is working well especially for my squat, but my raw bench isn't going super great, though I think my shirted press is up a fair bit.

20/10/09 Tuesday

Bench Press
20kg x 10
65kg x 6

CG 3-Book Press
95kg x 3
110kg x 3
122.5kg x 10 PR
122.5kg x 7

Band Pullaparts
purple x 30
purple x 20(2 sets)

Hammer Curls

20kg x 20
20kg x 15

Comments:
-Trained on a different bench today, softer, and more grip, which explains why I got the same amount of reps, but with 5kg more than last week. Our regular bench is getting re-upholstered with the same grippy stuff as the bench we used today, which will allow for bigger numbers in training

21/10/09 Wednesday

Deadlift
28 trx
---suit bottoms---
65kg x 6
110kg x 4
---straps up---
155kg x 2
200kg x 1
220kg x 1
---suit bottoms---
200kg x 6(3 sets) PR

Comments:
-First deadlift session in the 28 TRX, it's stretched out alot now, and isn't too hard to get into anymore. Still fucking tight though!
-Got the straps up, very hard to get down to the bar, but it is bloody awesome, bar was coming off the floor very fast, love this suit.
-The sets were hard, last rep was a massive grinder.
-The suit bottoms(hips) were extremely tight, and made it very hard to deadlift without the straps up, and hard to get down to the bar even with the suit bottoms, I just wasn't able to set up as well and arch my back as well as usual.
-Felt nautious since eating at about 3pm(trained at 7), and throughout the entire session which sucked, and deadlifts make it alot worse as many would know!
-Back was sore afterwards too, not massively sore, but more than anything I've had before(virtually nothing lol), still feeling it now a couple hours later. I put this down to the suit bottoms being that tight, supporting the hips but giving no support to the back, and I wasn't able to arch as hard as I like to. Tim said the rounding was not too bad at all though.
-Will change things next cycle to fix this, either a looser suit when using suit bottoms, or do the suit bottoms sessions raw from now on.

is the TRX a squat suit that you're using for conv pulls? If so, how is that working for pulls? what do you think you get out of it?

Back still sore now. Went to a physio, he reckons I've strained a disc, and told me to take some voltaren. I'm reading up on it now, anybody have any experiences with it?

Apparently it causes gastrointestinal problems, and since I've been feeling nautious with an upset stomach the last couple days, I don't think I'll take it. Also, it's marketed as "temporary relief" which I am not interested in at all, I'm only interested if it will speed up the healing of the tissue damage.

Yep. It's virtually identical to the fusion(minor changes to the angle of the legs i think), the difference between the suits is mainly marketing. Using both suits, I can honestly tell zero difference in using them.

Tim Germanchis(training partner, 09 national champ) squats and deads in a TRX, as does Wade Hooper, and I think Ray Hope and Theo do too, both national champs this year too, although I'm not 100% on that.

In other words its the same suit as a fusion, except this one is fucking tight, using the same size as the 60kg national champ, and a few 67's too ha!

It fucked my back a bit using tight suit bottoms, but was awesome with straps up, I didn't even use a belt and the bar was rocketing off the floor. Suit is so tight, bit hard to deal with ha.

Meh, I just did nothing at all, chucked the straps up on Squats to make it easier on the back. It seems to be recovering well.

-Good session, reps came up well even though 3rd and 4th reps were pretty much done straps down, as they slid that far off, when i let go of the bar one of them fell off! It's pretty damn hard to get to the bar, hope I can still do it with a belt on next week!
