So now that I'm not unemployed anymore, I've ordered some new equipment. I've ordered a 28 Inzer TRX to squat and deadlift in, and a 38 Titan F6 to bench in, will use this equipment in competition in November. I'm pretty sure this will be the smallest suit and shirt I'm ever going to get into.

This shirt should be super tight, so no excuses for not getting decent carryover

what's up with your avatar? is that the gym you train out of? I always thought it was a regular gym, but from the pic, it looks like it's a garage gym.

Since when was methylhexamine banned?

I've been taking that stuff for a couple of years now.

PS drug testing organizations = crooked and lame

Oh and if you want to relay it, methylhexamine is also known as Geranamine (a trade name in some supplements) and 1,3-dimethylamylamine

It acts on norepinephrine in the brain (similar to the action of amphetamines, IIRC) but I hadn't known it was on the IOC banned list

Or is ASADA just extra nazi about being "clean" (lol)?

Yeah I just checked, it's not on the WADA list.

Tuaminoheptane is, however it's not the same thing. They share the same chemical formula, and are both amines, but they have a different structure - which means they're not the same thing.

Apparently Jamaica agrees: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/athletics/8194466.stm

These guys should appeal.

Thanks Matt, I'll pass this information onto those guys. So there's nothing in the rules about different isomers of chemical compounds also being banned?

The WADA rules are kinda vague really.

Tuaminoheptane is listed under stimulants banned in competition - not under a general ban.

There's a whole bunch of stuff listed, and then its says "and any other substances with a similar chemical structure or similar biological effect(s)."

I'm guessing that clause is why they dinged them, cause chemically they're both C7H17N, but they do have a different structure.

However teh Jamaicans weren't banned, so there's obviously room for interpretation here.

Plus I get a laugh from the idea of the WADA banning amines. What's next, dinging a guy for testing positive for leucine or glutamine?

wada testing is not specific for powerlifting, wada testing covers many potential sports where being relaxed from a toke or two can be performance enhancing. Some will claim that being stoned makes the lifting better!
