Back gives. I pretty much have an iron grip I can hold onto wayyyy more than I can row/pull.

I think I just have to consistently do DB rows every week and I should get much stronger in them. Maybe my DB rows aren't that bad, but it feels like they are a bit weak compared to my BB rowing(which I'm doing regularly now too).

I like foam rolling. It's really good on those days when the legs are beat up.

Can't say I'd spend $45 on one, though.

nah, the only thing that ever bothers me is my joints, muscles very rarely are tight or feel sore or anything.

if i am feeling beat ill take a hot shower or go for a bike ride/walk or something.

nothing against them - just never felt the need really.

I have taken a golf ball to my triceps to try to fix them, it hurt like hell and might have helped?

Foam rolling is good, I have been doing it for about a month now, it hurts nowhere near as much now as it did when I started. Must be working.
$45 seems like a lot, but that seems to be what they go for around here.

I just use a hard cardboard roll from the inside of A0 roll of paper, or a piece of conduit, cant imagine the foam makes any real difference other than it being softer.

-Great day of training today, 110kg went up fast, good for a few reps on that weight.
-115kg went up fast too, I'm probably very close to benching 120kg raw, which is what I did in a shirt lol!
-Weighed myself with good scales, 83.70kg this morning at the gym before I started training
-Work up to a new raw Squat PR tomorrow, will go either 155/160/165, or maybe 155/165. I'd like to get 165kg, as it is double bodyweight raw at 82.5kgs

I just had a look at the 2008 Sub Junior Worlds Nominations(I would have gone if somebody had paid for everything ):

82.5kg Thu 04 Sep 2008
BILYY Sergiy 1990 UKR 280.0 180.0 260.0 720.0

In red is the Australian guy that that is going, who has totalled 495kg.

There are 3 people at 700kg or more, 6 people at 600 of more. Yikes! And these are all 18 year old 82.5kg lifters!!! Looks like I'd place about 7th if I went.. It would still be a great experience nonetheless, as I'm sure it will be for our Australian competitors there(who will get smashed more than I would have

I'm bored, so I decided to take a picture of my supplement lab/collection:

I have a 1kg bag of creatine there, that they sent me when I ordered and payed for 500g, score!!!

I think I might buy some pure whey concentrate and see how that tastes after the ON whey is done, if its good I'll stick with pure concentrate as it's cheaper, if not I'll go back to ON whey.

And that creatine is going to last me forever! Pretty awesome that I scored an extra 500g hah...

I was just about to order some books from amazon, but his visa card(not a credit card, some 3rd party thing) got cancelled as the company is like shutting down wtf. Amazon should introduce paypal, or, somebody should get me a credit card...

what's with that big ON bag? It looks like a gym bag.

does your dextrose and creatine come in those containers or do you put them in there. I bought like 2 or 3lbs of creatine at the start of the year and still have a ton left.

ON=whey concentrate or at least it usually does. You probably won't notice much difference. Isolates are a little cleaner tasting IMO than isolates, but i don't know if it is enough to justify spending the extra cash on it.

Have you heard anything about trueprotein opening in Australia? I haven't recently.

I order from a place called myopure, which is pretty much the Australian version of trueprotein, but with prices a bit higher(cheapest in the country still), and a smaller range of products. I find the quality of the products to be better than trueprotein actually

Haven't heard anything about tp in australia, that email said it would be ages away anyway.

The ON bag was a 10lb bag lol! ON cost me, for 10lbs about 34-35$ per kg, the whey concentrate(unflavoured) will cost me $27.50 per kg for 4kg. So it's cheaper.

I got the ON because it was pretty cheap, and had some flavouring to it. I have it with the dextrose and maltodectrin anyway, which I now know are pretty damn sweet, so I probably can do without the flavouring in the ON whey.

I'm going to switch probably because of that mostly, and the whey concentrate won't have any artificial flavourings, or other crap and has a higher % of protein.

They send me the creatine in that silver bag, and the dextrose and maltodextrin in clear plastic bags(2kg), I put them in those containers. An interesting thing I notices is that 2kg of maltodextrin occupies alot more space than 2kg of dextrose!!!

I take a heaped teaspoon of creatine(a big one) 4 times a week after training, I have like 1kg there, this is going to last almost to the end of the year I think.

better than trueprotein?! no way!!

for the unflavored, you can just add koolaid packets to it, and along w/ the malto and dextrose, it should be pretty tasty.

When I bought from trueprotein, the stuff I got wasn't mixed that well, it had lumps of white stuff in it(which didn't mix into my shakes), I'm assuming that was the maltodextrin, but I'm not sure. Also nothing was labelled when I bought form trueprotein, I had to email them to ask which tub was what thing, they emailed me back, but hey they could have just been guessing at that too...

The stuff from myopure comes with labels, with all the details about the product, including expiry dates. The products are also free of lumps in them, and although you have to mix stuff yourself, I like it that way.

They don't have the range that trueprotein has, but they have everything I want.

I'm going to try just with malto and dextrose, should be fine. That 10lb bag of ON is going to take me a while to chew through though, maybe I should just start having random shakes all the time to get through it faster.

20/07/08 Sunday

Squat
20kg x 6
65kg x 6
110kg x 3
135kg x 2
155kg x 1 PR
160kg x 1 PR
127.5kg x 6(4 sets) PR

Short Rom Rack Pulls(Grip Test)
110kg x 3
155kg x 3
200kg x 1
245kg x 1
255kg x 1 PR
265kg x 1 PR

Overhead Press

60kg x 6(2 sets)
60kg x 4

Comments:
-Happy with my squatting today, 155kg and 160kg singles raw with no belt either. I might give 165kg a crack in a couple weeks time.
-Sets were pretty good, 2.5kg PR from my previous best sets of 6. Will go 132.5kg for 3x6 next week, for another 5kg PR.
-The rack pulls were just for fun, and to test out my grip rather than any training effect really.
-Happy with holding onto 265kg(no straps ofcourse), I should have gone for 275kg!
-Looks like my grip is capable of holding onto atleast 50kg more than I can pull from the floor which is good to know. Won't have any grip issues any time soon.
-OH presses getting hard, I'm starting to lean back a bit more, I didn't attempt any more than 4 reps on the last set. Not sure what I'll do next week, I might just attempt 60kg again and try and get 3x6, and then drop to 4's the week after.

10kgs on my raw squat, and 10kgs on my raw bench. not too bad. Put about 25kgs on my deadlift too

I'll be happy with another 10kgs and 15kg in my next cycle in a few months, 125kg raw bench, and a 175kg raw squat in September/November.

It's been a good week of training, just finished off week 4 of my 11 week cycle, so 7 more weeks of training. My bench is coming in very strong, so I'm expecting to bench press 130kg minimum, hopefully 135kg in competition.

That was the last training session before competing for those doing the national championships. Most of the PL club is leaving for the national championships this Friday, so my next 5-6 training sessions will be without any experienced powerlifters around. I've still got a less experienced lifter there to spot me though, won't go for any new 1rm's during this time though, and it's week 5 of the cycle, so the weights aren't extremely heavy yet, although next weeks squatting will be a good PR.

I'm thinking of trying a 120kg raw bench, and 165kg raw squat when the guys get back though.
