Was just googling Aussie Strongman stuff and found this site Oz STRONGMAN
anyway the have a lightweight under 84kg division, heres the events requirements
Light weights - Under 84KG
- Farmers Walk 2 x 70kg = 140kg for distance
- Log Lift 1 x 80kg for reps
- Atlas Stones 5 x 70kg - 80kg - 90kg - 100kg - 110kg for time
- Conan's Wheel 1 x 180kg for distance
- Shield Walk 1 x 100kg for distance
Looks like I have some numbers to aim for. Don't know if there will be any competitions in my area, would be cool to compete though.
None of those weights are light to me at the moment. Be impressive to hit those numbers and even cooler if you were able to do it in a meet.
yea, by comparison my competition in the US (a novice, never before competed one) is:
Log overhead press: 180lbs for reps
Trap Bar Deadlift: 450lb for reps
Yoke walk: 550lbs
Farmers walk: 215lbs/hand with 2 turns
Carry and drag: carry 190lb keg drag back 500-600lb sled.
yep, your event sure looks tougher,
there is also a Medley (Tire flip, chain pull) listed as part of the events section, but it doesnt mention any of the weights involved.

And 80kg for reps would be good! I think I'll get to work on that after my PL meet is done.
Thanks, 80kg will be good, I have along way to go though, maybe we need to have a race.

Is the plan just doing 20reps (or whatever number) in the shortest amount of time? Ie as many sets as needed and try to keep rest short.
Yes thats the plan, I really should keep track of the time it takes for the overall set, but I dont. If I could eventually crank tem out in 1 set I would be very happy.

Just ordered Maximum Strength,
estimated delivery date June 11, 2008 - July 1, 2008
There usually quicker than that, hopefully here a lot sooner.
Shipping was almost as much as the book
- was jumping on the trampoline with the kids for 30-40mins right before I lifted, think it wore me out.
Thats worth having a slightly less energetic weights session for. Those are the reasons to stay fit and healthy and not be one of those overweight, unhealthy people that say they want to be able to do more things with their kids.

I listened to the Xavier Rudd song in your sig, and a few other ones on youtube. This guy is pretty damn good, can't believe I've never heard any of his stuff before(or heard of him)!
