Soon you'll be pulling the whole soccer team.

This is the best type of exercise. If more people did general play type activity we'd all be alot healthier.

Looking forward to reading those PR's.

I have the same driveway issue. I think I need to put a piece of old carpet under mine to keep it from scratching up the Earth.
Carpet would work, I moved mine so its just dragging on some dirt now, and I made some modifications and moved the chain so it goes through the tyre instead of under it, the chain was doing most of the damage.
I only wanted to use it on the driveway because it was a bit more private.
I guess I'm just a bit self-conscience of the neighbours watching what I'm doing, I know it's pretty stupid cause I ain't on TV and I'm sure thats what there all watching.

Week 2 - Monday 14th April

Squat
b x 10
60kg x 5
70kg x 5
75 x 5 - was meant to be x 3

85 x 5 x 3 rep PR (187lbs)

Deadlift
60kg x 5
90 x 5 - this felt heavy
110 x 5
120 x 2
130 x 5 - rep PR (287lbs)

Walking Lunge
3 x 60secs
bw x 36 x 3

AB Circuit
Side Bend 3 x 10e x 15kg/eh
Sbag Rotation 3 x 16
Knee tucks 3 x 12

- Squats were tough, form is getting better which is my biggest problem

- Deads felt really easy, the last rep went up pretty quick, but my grip was starting to give.

- Lunges felt good, need to add some weight.

- Ass is a bit sore today (damn lunges), but otherwise I feel pretty good.
Looking forward to benching tonight, for the first time in ages my bench is behind my squat.

Cool picture, and nice progress.

Are these all time PR's? or PR's since you started?

Deads = all time PR's

Squats = Have squatted over 100kg in the past but can't remember and my records are shitty as to what I have done in the past. So were going on my old man memory here and I think there all time PR's but maybe not
But hey, it looks cool and sounds impressive to keep hitting PR's

Week 2 - Tuesday 15th April

Bench
b x 20
60kg x 5
70 x 5
75 x 2

85 x 5 x 2 (187lbs)
85 x 4 -
wasnt confident about the last rep so i stopped

Row - Pendlay
50kg x 8
62.5kg x 8 x 4 (138lbs)
+ little bit of weight

Tricep Extension
30kg x 8 x 3 (66lbs)
+ little bit of weight

Sandbag Clean & Press
1 clean/5 presses
3 x 60secs
30kg (67lbs)
x 5,5,5,5
(+5)
x 5,5,5
(+1)
x 5,5,5
(-)

- bench was ok, probably would have got that last rep but didnt want to risk bad form and death

- rows felt strong for 4 reps, then they got harder

- sandbag presses were easier than last week, might hold off increasing the time for another week though.

- Squats again tonight, legs are still pretty sore so I will probably steal something from Ian's log and go with about 80% of monday night and get my form down.

- Looking forward to the sled drags tonight also,

- and thanks to whoever gave my log a 5 star rating

Sounds like you need a spotter for the bench press. The confidence you get when you have somebody behind you that can easily help you get the bar back into the racks is awesome, no more fear of death or having to roll the bar down your body hah! Just concentrate on the set then.

Don't think a spotter will happen, not until the kids get a lot bigger anyway.
I would love to get a cage, that would solve a lot of problems, confidence included.

Ha this is post 999, never thought I would reach 1000

Week 2 - Wednesday 16th April

Squat
b x 10 x 2
60kg x 5
65 x 3
70 x 5 x 3 (154lbs)

Deadlift
60kg x 5
80 x 5
90 x 2
105 x 5 (229lbs)

Sled Drag
sled + 30kg (~70kg total)
x 68m
(74 yards)
x 51m x 2
(56 yrds) - holy mutha F^##n quad burn Batman
Ab Circuit
- I was too fucked from the sled drags

- Went easy on the squats and deads, allthough the squats werent that easy.
Form felt OK, but i'm yet to get into a comfortable groove.

- Sled drags are awesome, but fuck me they hurt like hell, I was doing them in ~17m runs, turn around and go again
the sled works really well, and i rigged up a handle from some old pipe to use
instead of trying to hold the rope

- not to sore today

- o/h pressing, chins, and some sled rows tonight, which should be better with the thicker rope I have know.

What a machine. Sounds (or rather reads) like your training is coming along nicely. Nothing I can add, your doing fine on your own.

thanks Josh,
almost 2 full weeks in a row, amazing what can happen when your not falling apart every few days

Didn't train last night, because 3 nights in a row had me stuffed, 4 nights in a row may have killed me. Will be up early Saturday (tomorrow)
morning to get the last session in for the week.

Time to catch up on some training

Week 2 - Saturday 20th April

Over Head Press
b x 5 x 2
40kg x 5
45 x 5
50 x 2 (110lbs)
x 5
x 1
- dont know what happened here, they felt really heavy

Chinups
20 reps - minimal rest
bw x 8
x 4
x 4
x 4
- less sets

Overhand sled row
sled + my daughter x 36m (39yards)
x 3
up weight
- my daughter (~20kg) jumped in the sled wasnt sure if I could row her in it as I only did the sled last week, but it was ok

- didnt do CG bench as my daughter wanted to pull the sled around, so she pulled just the tire forward and backward drags for about 5mins, Pound for pound I think shes stronger than me.

No training last night, was my wedding anniversary, 7 years of wedded bliss , we went out for indian instead, mmmmmmm

Plan for the rest of the week
Tonight - Bench 87.5kg x 5 x 3
Deads have been going really well and i'm anxious to see where I'm at, so I'm going to pull 160kg x 5 on wednesday night. 160kg is my current 1rm, i think I have surpassed that. We shall see, and if i do that I'll be stuffed cause 160kg is all the weights I have.

I priced a 7' olympic bar for about $175, dont know if that is expensive or not but seems to be about the going price, I think its rated to about 300kg, which I'm sure will be enough for me
The bigger cost is buying 200+kg of weight plates

500lb sled pull would be tough, are you pulling backwards??, does it matter how you pull it in the comp??

check out this place
Cybermarket

7 foot olympic bar $95
Bar plus 140kg weights $345.

No idea about shipping though.

If you get the 160x5 that will be more reps than i've ever done.
