Back to regular programming next week, not going to change anything from the
last few weeks.

The strongman crew have obviously been fixing the formats and events for the upcoming year, plenty of changes, here they are.

RULES - 2009
Weight divisions - Pro class - (Open) - International standards
Amateur class - Heavy weight - Over 105kg - Light weight - under 105kg - Light weight - under 90kg


Events for 2009
Silver - Novice and entry level athletes Sydney - Feb - May - August - Oct - Dec


Gold - State titles (Brisbane - Sydney - Perth - Melbourne)
Brisbane - March - Gold Coast - May - Sydney - June - Perth - October - Melbourne - September


Platinum - Australian National championships - NOV 09 - Invitation only

Platinum - USC - "Ultimate Strongman Championships" NOV 09


The important stuff (LW only)
  • Shield walk 50 mtrs - 100kg (220lbs)
  • Log Lift Reps - 80kg (176lbs)
  • Monster Dumbbell - 40kg (88lbs)
  • Conans Wheel - 220kg (484lbs)
  • Apollons Axle Reps - 90kg (198lbs)
  • Car Deadlift Reps - 200kg (440lbs)
  • Farmers Walk 50 mtrs - 75kg e/hand (165lbse/h)
  • Atlas Stones - 80kg -> 120kg (176 -> 264lbs)
  • Super Yoke - 200kg (440lbs)

Ive said it before, but damn ive got some MORE work to do.

At least I get to bulk up to over 200lbs,

I will aim for the May contest, I dont think I will try the Feb contest, but I might give it a go, even if i cant complete all the events, just to get a comp under my belt.

are you using leg drive on your overhead press work?

if not, you should probably start once you get your shoulders feeling good. Strict presses have their place, but the whole program pre-meet shouldn't consist of them.

no leg drive at the moment, will start doing heavy Push Presses after all the christmas/new years stuff passes

yeah, in 3 weeks I added 2.5kg to my Chin 3rm (thats what I added in 4 months with MS).

Squats are getting stronger, dont know by how much, but my form has improved by a heap, and all my squats now are ATG. But that has been thanks to the foam rolling and mobility from MS.

thats what I have been focusing on since MS

just bad timing for me and MS

- form was shitty

Hang Clean
60kg x 5
70kg x 3 x 2
60kg x 5

Farmers Walk
45kg e/h x 40m ( 1 turn) x 2 - easy
holds 50e/h x ~30secs x 2

- turns were much better
- very tired today
- I think in the new year I will add an events day, Trying to incorporate them into the week is very tiring

Yep holidays, was a good break.
Didnt really lift anything at all though, Did plenty of physical work though and its been pretty hot, im down to ~83kg.
the break has been good, but ive missed lifting, time to get back into it
