Today--had MRI number two (of the right ankle). We'll see. Pissed me off, since I got up to go to the gym and realized that 4 AM was too late to go (since I had to be AT the MRI by 6 AM, and it takes 30 mins to get to work, and an hour to lift, and another ten minutes to get to/from the gym, and another 30 mins to shower and eat, and I didn't have my lunch packed yet, and...annoying).
Tahoe is awesome. Thumbs up, even though it drizzled and spat snow all weekend. We went to Emerald Bay and did some hiking, wayyyyy cool.

Ughhhhhhhhh.........I hate when your day starts like that. I hope the rest of your day turned out better.

Snatch 2x3xbar, 2x2x55,2x65,2x2x70 last set was very rough
C&J 3x45,3x55,2x3x65,3x75,2x2x80 still using my mother effing arms. ARRRRGH.
Pause/Dead hang clean explosive shrugs 2x80,2x95,2x110
Back squat 5x105,4x120,3x150,2x2x165,2x17 0 (almost bought the farm on the last rep), 10x115
Ran/walked for about 15 mins on the dreadmill. No pain, but very slow. Rt ankle MRI showed some weirdness, including a ? foreign body in my midfoot. WTF?!?!?!
sorry you're still having so much pain with so little evidence of a treatable cause - what happens to your PT/fitness requirements if you medically cannot run (just curious)?
Well, I stop in here to ask the good doctor a completely hypothetical question and I find out she's hurt. I am sorry!! That sucks about your ankle. Are there plans to figure out what the foreign object is??
Here's my question (completely hypothetical, of course): Say a person was to get sunburned...what would be a good treatment for it?
And an update: the big molluscum is almost all gone...the tee-tinies are still here although they all got treated at the same time. I guess we can attribute that to her scraping the white yucky off. Yuck! Thanks for your help!

Hee hee... hypothetical, hmmm?
Well, solarcaine helps with the pain, and aloe vera gel is actually soothing. Mild (over the counter) hydrocortisone cream isn't very helpful... of course, prevention is the best treatment of all.
My ankles have both been very jacked up for months for no apparent reason that I can determine. I think the random foreign body is either, as Lisa suggested, a govt tracking device (you know, just in case I jump the border into Canada before my term of service is up, LOL) OR just an artifactual thing that isn't really there. Gotta love radiology.
Awesome about the molluscum. I do wish I could provide treatments to make stuff resolve more rapidly, but skin is slooooooow in its response. Good thing I'm so patient....

So, I lifted *GASP* two days in a row. Since I'm flying to Texas today, I'm on leave and got to go to the gym AFTER the sun was up for a change. It makes a difference, apparently.
Snatch (below knee/hang/below knee): 2x3x45, 3x55, 3x65,2x3x70 These were all ridiculously easy. I think I actually managed to get full extension on several; they were effortless.
C&J lotsa warmups then 3x3x65,2x75,1x85,2x1x90 no problems, and I do believe I'm not pulling with my arms nearly as much. I'll have Ross tape this weekend to verify that.
It was great meeting you and Ross this afternoon and hanging out for a bit. Bob and I made it safely to Lake Charles, Gambled a bit and came home.

I posted this in Tracey's Journal but you might want to check out Revolution Tea for the step-kiddos. Its decent and they can get it locally.
And if you ever get to my side of Houston, we'll have to go to Teavana at Baybrook Mall

Good idea, Paula! If/when my stepson moves out here, I'll DEFINITELY be going that route...
Today's workout:
Brought to you by the letter D for dizzy and disjointed and just damned disappointing overall.
Snatch (below knee, thigh, below knee): 2x3x45,3x55,3x3x65 C&J: 3x55,3x3x65,2x75,1x80,2x1x85 jerks good today, cleans ok. I actually was TOO snappy on one and apparently too close to the body since I whacked my chest pretty hard with the bar. Whoops. Snatch high pulls 3x3x85 these felt good today. Also went up ten lbs, but it's more for the explosive part I'm doing these, so it doesn't count. Drop snatch + OH squat 2x50,2x60,2x2x65 wobbly on the 65s today. Was going to go for 70, but yesterday was a low cal/low carb day so fuhggedaboudit.
I get to jump on a red eye to Dulles tomorrow night so will have to lift again tomorrow morning. Hopefully more food today will help.
Snatches: worked up to 80lbs, not pretty. These felt off today
C&J: worked up to 95lbs. Felt pretty good on these today; my angle is better to start with, right Manny?
Clean high pulls: worked up to 2x105
Jerk balances + Jerk worked up to 85 lbs
Front squats: worked up to 2x135
Military press: worked up to 5x60
Make sure that you achieve the right angle by shifting your bodyweight toward your toes. This was happening on your snatches and cleans, and is why your snatches were painful and unforgiving.
Make sure you sit back to the heels and stay there. The toe thing is causing you to pull with your arms still and is killing your shrug.
As for the jerks, keep on your heels and keep a tighter core because youre leaning forward in your dip. Also, let your back knee bend instead of posting your leg straight back. It will be better for your hip and overall stability.
Did you take any vids of your assistance work? Im curious as to what your pulls, jerk balances, etc. look like.
