Nah, I'm just weak as hell. I feel OK now, just really took a lot out of me to be so sick for a prolonged time. Thank, Bree.

Thanks K.

Yesterday: went back to Cali Strength for the first time in a month. Weird!

Snatches: bar work, 25x3, 30x3, 32.5 x 2, 35x1x4
Cleans: drop cleans (bar), 25x3, 35x3, 40x2, 42.5x1x4

Hamstrings are sore today. Weird! Guess my ass is literally getting into gear, finally. Still gotta keep it light but every day adds a little more, so I'm getting there. Hoping to resume squatting next week, cuz I'm looking scrawny.

Another workout.

Jerk balance + jerk: 25x2+2, 30x2+2, 35x1+1, 37x1+1, 40x1+1

Halting snatches (2 sec @ knee): 25x2x2, 30x2, 32x1x2. Back moving today for some weird reason, so I just stayed light and tried to iron that out. Fail.

Cleans: 25x3, 30x2, 35x2, 40x2, 37x3

Really awkward today. I need some mojo.

Still lacking mojo.

FS + J:
25x2+2, 35x2+2, 40x2+1, 42x2+1, 44x1+1, 45x1+1, 46x1+1

Halting snatches
25x2, 30x2x2, 32x1

Cleans
25x3, 35x3, 40x2, 42x2

FS and J were OK, some a bit too wide on the split. My drop speed sucked ass for the snatching and the cleans however; did manage to keep arms from helping on the cleans like they tried to yesterday. I'm sleeping like shit despite the exile of the cats forevah from the bedroom and now fighting off some sort of sore throat/cough/frog voice viral crap.

Technique work is humbling.

Maybe the cats have put a hex on you since being banned from the bedroom.

Here's hoping you get your mojo back soon though.

Slight hint of reemerging mojo. Much better workout today. Still tech work, so nothing crazy but:

Drop cleans (bar)
Halting cleans 25x3, 30x3, 35x3, 40x1, 43x1

Hang snatch bar x 3, 20x3, 25x3, 30x2, 32x3

FS + J 35x3+2, 40x2+2, 44x2+1, 46x2+1

Then went and had some delicious Persian food. Yummmmmm saffron and yay, chicken kabobs! Also had some feta with fresh (like, whole leaves--hell, half the plant in some cases) cilantro, mint, and basil along with some raw walnuts and radishes. The pita bread was durned good too.

And tomorrow? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO work! Oh yeah.
Good times.

Well, I only made 2/6 (enough to total thankfully) so... didn't bother.

Haha. I love Austin Powers! Thanks guys.

Had a workout at Cal Strength yesterday. Apparently it was better than I realized based on astute video review. What I did:

Dynamic warmup/resistance stretching--thanks Jill! I got thru the lower body portion before I had to go

The usual stretchin' and rollin'

Halting snatches: 3x2x25, 3x30, 2x3x35, 1x3x35--didn't go up for the singles because I was leaning back on the doubles so tried to fix that. I had a couple pretty good ones in there so glad I squelched my bruised ego.

Drop cleans/jerks with bar

Clean +J 3+3x25, 2+2x35, 2+2x37.5, 2+1x40, 2+1x42.5, 1+1x45
For some reason when I was cleaning last week I'd catch and sit (not the way to go in general), so looks like the fast FS+J have helped out with that weirdness.

Back squats: 3x20, 3x50, 3x2x60--man. Well, haven't done these for a long time and I'm not pushing max anything for a while so... whuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutever I suppose. Sadly felt like work to do 60kg but oh well. I don't really think my strength will be an issue at any point in the near future.

On a slightly related note, I started a beginner's belly dancing class--total fun. My hips and abs are gonna actually be useful for OL as a direct result methinks, just due to the mind/body connection this is already creating.

That's all I gots.

Serious dust.

Had fairly decent workouts this week which I didn't log. The highlights are halting snatches to 40kg, FS+J to 50kg, BS to 68 kg (weak!), halting cleans to 45. I think. I'm working from memory here.

Belly dancing still fun. Had class number 2 yesterday. Talk about getting to know and love your pelvis! If my ass doesn't start to engage on these lifts after this I dunno how else to make it work properly. It's seriously isolation to the nth degree. Really fun, yesterday was fun with finger cymbals. Ching, ching, ching-ching-ching! Can't wait to break out the canes and veils, lol!
