lookin good in here, my strong, ripped friend! glad you are back settled at home, but hoping you return to florida soon! speaking of shopping, ordered a pair of prescription gucci's-they have the cute gucci buckle on the side. now I can use my beat up ray bans for sports only.
I'm thrilled to be home. Living out of a suitcase (and the back of a prius) for six weeks sucks. Especially in the land of "palmetto bugs". A rose, by any other name... is still a frikkin COCKROACH. Ugh.
Thanks, Wendy, Jules, and Kristen.
Today:
The usual warmups
High hang snatch + snatch balance 25x1+2, 25x1+2, 30x1+2*3
Rack jerks 30x2, 30x2, 35x2, 40x1, 45x1
Scap bent over rows 40x8*3
Done. Just lightish to work on technique today. The snatch balances started out rough today for some reason. Rt wrist is phunky, too.
I remember my first time in Florida was my senior trip after graduating high school. Six partying girls staying in the same hotel room. We had a ground floor room, and not enough room for all of us to sleep in the beds, so we took turns on the floor. GROSS! Ugh, the bugs!! I can't believe we did it, but maybe we were just too drunk to care. One morning we opened the door to the outside and right on our little patio square of concrete were just TONS of those bugs swarming because we had spilled beer out there. yuck, yuck, yuck!

I remember seeing them while we were renting a place in South Padre, Texas. I'm with you... ewwww. The worst we get inside here is what we call June Bugs (come from white grubs in the lawn). Putting screening on the chimney caps seems to work most of the time. That and cats that seem to love chasing them down... and eating them. Ick.
Sorry about this hijack but along the lines of cockroaches....I worked with a 4's class in preschool for a few years and they had a nature lady come in, and she had MADAGASCAR HISSING COCKROACHES. Ok...so...as if they aren't nasty enough...this species HISSES?
So the teacher looks at me and says, "kristen would you like to hold them first?" (attempting to get me to do it so I could set the example and then the kids wouldn't be afraid) and I said "uhhhhh...no WAY lady" I don't think that was the answer she was looking for..but they were like 3 inches LONG...UUUUUUGGGGGHHHH!!!
I've used cockroaches in biology labs twice - 20 some years apart - I think this last time they might have been those Madagascars - they were huge!
All of this reminds me of a classic moment with big bugs:
