Glad the 2nd workout was better, especially the recovery from being frazzled and pressing on. You're going to win this mental battle and kick ass - I can't wait to see it!

Here's the split presses and the squats, if anyone wants to see. I need to drop my back leg more on the split presses but squats were golden.

I liked the little "yay!" at the end of the last single.
They all look good to me, but what do I know. Glad the lifting mood is better too.

Awesome squatting! +1 on the Yay at the end.

I always hated split presses and usually have the same problem with not dropping my back leg enough. I have to give you credit just for doing them.

Thank you for posting this! Now I know I am definitely not going low enough on my squats. I don't think I need to go below parallel like you but would like to get to parallel. My knees tend to flare out when I begin to approach parallel. I noticed you feet are angled out slightly and wonder if this might help me get there. Also, couldn't tell from the angle but are your legs shoulder width or slightly farther apart?

I don't think I'll be squating like you anytime soon but it will be something for me to strive for.

Feet shoulder width or so apart, slightly spread out like T nicely demonstrates. When going up act like you are spreading the floor with you feet. This helps get the glutes activated.

Hi Everybody! *waving*
Hi Brandy, thanks for stopping by. I'm about shoulder width or so apart, feet-wise, on my squats.

Heyyyyyyy, whaddaya know, a workout! I stopped at the old place in SA today and carried my bar in to get a little oly in en route to Pensatucky:

Snatch warmups, scarecrows, DHS, snatch balances, and snatches from floor... only up to about 37 or 38 kg I think. I was working with both lbs and kgs mixed today so it sorely taxed my paperless math skillz.

Clean warmups, cleans, CJs up to 47 kg for doubles on the jerk portion. These were easy. Thank gawd, cuz cleans were being a complete bitch for me for some reason the last few workouts.

I'm working on NOT jumping so much and actually getting complete extension on my snatches before I shrug. I do this more easily on cleans for whatever reason, but still a work in progress on snatches. Did a lot of stuff from the hang as well today. Fun stuff, good workout--I think just getting out of my awesome but lonely garage was good for me.

Sounds like a great workout to me!

I seem to work out better around other people, even though I do use my basement treadmill sometimes... Have weights (although not really what I would pick now, knowing much more than I did 5 years ago), but DH is the only one who really uses 'em...

Looking good in here as usual! Scoped out the derm competition last week, you will annhilate those two derm boys when you come visit. We will somehow have to get jill an honorary MD so you two can show em how it's done.

Gahhh frikkin internet!!!

Posted a nice long post that crapped out and lost it on a restart. So, the synopsis:

Working out at the base gym. It sucks. I'm on a wallyball court for the olifts. Ugh. It's at the end of a hall, too, so gotta lug alllllllllllllll that stuff back n forth.

Snatchy w/u, scarecrows, dhs

Hang snatches 2x25, 4x2x26.5. All technique today, very light weight.

FS+J sucked, on the reg bar, no whip, no nuthin'. Very cruddy press out jerks:
75x2+1, 90x2+1, 95x1+1, 100x2x1+1 (it's lbs, not kg here, lol)

SG pulls to knee (3 sec pause) 3x105,3x115,3x125, 3x135, 3x140# (+6kg)

Face pulls 2x12x20#

MEH.

I suppose, Roland.

Today: half done in my room, half at the gym. Room wts kg, gym wts lbs.

Room:
--Snatch warmups, scarecrows, DHS, hang snatch. I think getting more fluid. Carpet glued my feet to the floor, very hard to shuffle 'em.

--Split presses 5x25,4x30,3x35, 5x28, 4x31, 3x36 (+4)

Gym:
--Back squat--ATG, of course: 3x115,3x135,3x155,2x165,2x170, 2x175 so PR on reps +1 for ~80kg yay.
--Rows 8x95,7x110; prior best on these was 51kg x 5 so I would say this might be an incremental increase as well. I'll take it.

Overall: B minus.

Wallyball court and I have a date tomorrow, so hopefully some decent full lifts coming my way.

Squats are my friend right now. Other things.... meh. Rt posterior delt is painful today and yesterday; I slept on it funny. Massage tonight hopefully will square it away.

I had 8 solid hours of 93% efficient sleep last night, too, you'd think that would have given me an advantage today but sadly, no.

Wallyball court workout:

Scarecrows, DHS, HS, etc etc. Today, I discovered that if I don't extend my arms when I drop on a DS, the weight doesn't magically pop into the air. Comical. Some HS felt really good, some didn't.

CJs (2+1): 2x25, 2x30,2x35,2x2x40,2x45 there were some interesting catches today. I don't necessarily mean in a good way either. Trying to focus on no jumping and actually extending fully but I dunno. Jerks today... weirdly, rt foot wanted to be jerk foot so I let it. Left foot was being a POS. I felt much more aggressive going opposite.

Clean pulls: 2x3x45, 3x2x50. OK, these I'm just not very good at. This unfortunately means that my cleans suffer. I noticed my arms bend prematurely on both sn and cl, trying to correct this but very mixed results.

C minus. Not quite good enough to be average.

I'll see your C minus and raise it to a B. I thought about you today at the gym. I was getting to ready to bench and Puscifer's Queen B (or Bee, not sure) came on and totally got me pumped.

Mom saw the Derm. yesterday. he pretty much nixed everything I told her. He gave her a prescription for some kind of cream but she couldn't remember how to pronounce it and I think she was half asleep when I called anyway. Frustrating.

That sucks Paula. That derm had the advantage of seeing her in person though... so let me know how she does and what cream when you get a chance.
