The last two nights have been AWFUL. CTS was back with a vengeance. Last night I felt like I barely slept, but somehow did. Decided to train anyway and it was actually okay. Wrists feel fine and are actually feeling much stronger. I think the last two nights were bad because I got my wrists worked on and have also been doing some wrist strengthening work. Also, have been retaining some extra water the last two days. Whatever...it's frustrating but I'll live.
Let's not get too excited with the Yays just yet...you never know when I'm gonna be sidelined with some other shyte.
Trained today...
Warmups...etc etc etc
Front Squats - 1x20kg, 1x30kg, 1x40kg, 1x45kg, 1x50kg, 1x55kg, 1x60kg, 1x62.5kg, 1x66kg (these were not as solid as yesterday, but I still pulled out a decent weight and SI is still feeling good)
C&J - 2x2x20kg, 1x25kg, 1x30kg, 1x35kg, 6x1x40kg, 2x1x42.5kg, 1x45kg, 1x47.5kg, 1x50kg, 1x51kg, 1x45kg (these were meh, cleans were good but jerks started breaking down so I stopped)
...looks like Basement Cat has been hitting the free weights. Speaking of cats...I miss my Otis so much. We got his ashes back last week and I'm not sure what to do with them. Also got a little clay paw imprint. He was such a sweet cat.
I bought some new shoes the other day. Actually...boots. Yeah, I know it's only July but I'm already prepping for Fall.
I waited a long time after my cat Harry died, and I know it's too soon. When you're ready though, remember: http://www.petfinder.com/
I'm so glad I eventually decided on getting two kittens, and it worked out perfectly, as I wouldn't have my two little nut cases if I'd done it earlier.

I was just having this discussion with my Dad, about his recently deceased dog's ashes... People talk about "replacing" pets, but you never do... you can get another pet and love them for their own special furry little self, but it's never a replacement...
On the other hand - got a pic of the boots? What kind??? I can't wait to get to NY and do some shopping

I got these sorta boot-lette things.
I am also wanting these...
Oh, I love shopping in New York! Barney's should be having a big sale! Oh bow to the alter that is Barney's.

Yeah, we are actually contemplating a dog but not rushing into it. We still have one cat who is now dubbed the loneliest cat in the world by my son.
Awesome boots! I'm headed to NY in less than 24 hours, and Barney's is definitely on my list!
Glad you still have a cat... my dad, unfortunately, hadn't gotten a 2nd dog after one died - he was going to, when his other dog got sick... it's the first time they've been without pets in over 40 years... I think he's starting to consider thinking about a new dog though...

You should totally get a Pitbull. That would be

Hey ... we got Duncan's ashes back last week too. We're going to put some of them in Goose Pond, and some of them planted at home in a flower bed with a special marker over them. I'm starting to research a new puppy ... we're looking at getting another lab (best dogs ever!) and I'm researching breeders right now so we're prepared when it's time (in the fall).

I really, really miss my dogs. We actually had to give them both away (to family, so they got really good homes), because of allergies. I'm really allergic to dogs, but I always "forget" that after a few years of being without them. This time, the kids were having problems with asthma too, so I had to draw the line. I LOVE dogs and really wish we could have one!
Now I just have to satisfy myself by babysitting my parents' dog. And with these:
Awwww...I love Pit Bulls. They're great dogs. They are one of the breeds on my list.
I'm not sure where they stand in Ontario at the moment, but they were talking about banning breeding/sales and imposing some fairly stupid rules on people who already owned one. I used to work with a fellow who owned one, and it was a sweet dog. He used to use a picture of his (wearing pink wings) with his daughter on his laptop. I remember that he was very unhappy with the proposed legislation. He thought it should just be a case of charging people with their dog's crime. As those that keep dogs trained to attack would just go look for another dog to train.
Unfortunately pits, staffies and rotts are most likely to be impacted by breed-specific legislation and/or discrimination (e.g. higher home owners insurance liability rates, excluded from leases on rental homes/apartments, etc.). As much as I love these breeds (and have owned a rott in the past) I'm not sure I'd go that route again just because I don't think I have the energy to deal with being legislated or ruled against. But more power to those who choose to fight that fight because breed-specific legislation is wrong on its face (in my opinion).
done. Wasn't feeling all that snappy today. CTS was better last night, but I woke up at 2:30am and was ... wiiiiiiiiiiiiiide awake. Took me forever to fall back to sleep. Ugh, so frustrating . I am really looking foward to the day when good sleep returns to me.
Agreed. I'm far more concerned about the woman's dog 3 or 4 doors down. It's a little dog, and nasty as all get out. It takes a run at me some mornings when walking past. I'm always concerned that one day the chain may snap.

I know about next to nil about dogs, but one of my good friends adpoted a retired racing greyhound and he is the sweetest thing. It was interesting to hear her talk about how they had to train it over again since it had been only trained for racing, not for house/human living.
Sounds like the injuries are on the up and up which is always good.
That's not a dog...that's a horse!!! Great dogs tho...........
Hai Jill!!! Glad to see things are looking up in here...I'm with Wendy on the quiet yay!
They get smaller the longer you have them. That's hard to explain but trust me. We got her as a quasi rescue and it's the best dog I've ever owned. You just can't leave steak on the counter.

I love puppy talk! I have friends that have also adopted former racing greyhounds and they are the sweetest damn dogs. When I visit and sit on the floor, they will walk up and put their nose on my shoulder.
