An old saying says virtues are like muscles, you only get better at them with practice. So if you ask God for more patience what will you get? Many many more opportunities to practice patience. Don't be surprised.

Hey Jill - how you doing?

I'm doing pretty good, thanks! Nice of you to stop by.

I got rolfed today. Each session helps my CTS immensely. Training tomorrow and we'll see how it goes! Patience grasshopper.

Oh, where to start!!!???

Hands-down my favorite is the Samurai Chai Mate. It's really spicy cinnamony and delicious. You can drink that plain or mix it with the Ayurvedic White Chai. The Spice Nut Mate is also really good, but not as good as the samurai.

For Green Teas I like them unflavored. The sencha is a good every-day one. Nice and strong. I really really love the oolong teas too. The best are Six Summits Oolong and Sweet Oolong Revolution. Monkey Picked Oolong is good too, but 'spensive.

Black teas...I like the Masala Chai and the Thai Tea blend the best.

There are a ton of Rooibos teas too. I would say that the Bangkok Lemongrass is my favorite there.

Don't forget to get one of the individual tea makers. THE best invention evah. Get some of the German Rock Sugar too. Woot!

I know Bytsi, Krystin or Tracey will have some suggestions too. Oh, and I think Wendy is still drinking lots of Teavana. Ladies?

How did I miss this?

I love the white ayurvedic chai, the fruita bomba and the zingiber ginger (I think zingiber ginger is my fave). I do NOT like the haute chocolate... yuck.

Haven't figured out mixing yet, and I avoid ones with caffeine so might not've tried as many as Jill or Kristen or Tracey!

i got this too late. I'll use the suggestions towards my next order. I'm not a big fan of chai, actually, but more a fan of green and black teas. Chai's alright, just something i wouldn't drink a lot of. I like the stronger black/green teas, and sometimes rooibos. Here's what i ordered yesterday:

Cacao Mint 2OZ 6.12
Earl Grey Creme 2OZ 4.05
Gunpowder (Temple of Heaven grade) 2OZ 4.05
MateVana Herbal Tea 2OZ 5.22
Almond Biscotti 2OZ 5.40
English High Grown/English Breakfast 2OZ 2.97

i was debating on whether to get the tea maker or not. 18 bucks is pretty cheap, but i figured i could just go ahead and use my french press for the loose tea? If i liked the tea, i'll get it next time.

I've had the almond biscotti... it was meh... I had a lot of trouble getting it strong enough without it becoming bitter - maybe you'll have more success than I did.

You could definitely use a french press, but that tea maker thing is da bomb! I've tried Cacao Mint (good), Gunpowder (good), Mate Vana (meh), Almond Biscotti (meh)...the english breakfast and earl grey should be good. The Thai Tea blend is yum if you like coconut. It's my favorite of the black teas.

Just keep trying them and find what you like. Their tea is really awesome.

Oh hey, a workout!!!!

Warmups

Rack Jerks - 2x20kg, 2x30kg, 4x40kg, 1x42.5kg, 3x45kg, 1x47.5kg, 5x48.5kg

Cleans - 1x20kg, 1x25kg, 1x30kg, 1x35kg, 2x40kg, 5x45kg

Front Squats - 6x4x41kg

Cleans were slow today but squats felt better. Kept them light again to make sure the SI is okay. Wrists feel good. Got some new wraps and we'll see how those help out.

Update on my multitude of ailments. CTS is muuuuuuuuch better. Had another rolfing session yesterday and a PT evaluated my progress. Huge increase in range of motions in wrists and neck. Yay. Rolfer also worked on my SI area (can you say elbow in your glute!) and that's muuuuuuuuch better. Saw the orthopedic Sports Med dude today and he's like...you're good, I don't need to see you no more. Woot! I'm still continuing my PT/Rolfing treatment but I'm pretty damn pleased.

So that's my donation to america's overpriced health care system for the year.

GJ on getting better-er.

and how does that tea thing work? Like how does it stop the water from coming out the bottom, but when you stick it over your cup it flows? Is there a switch or something? From the video it just looks like it's magic.

The bottom of the tea brewer moves - when it's on top of a cup, it is pushed up and releases the tea - when the pressure of the cup is removed, it goes back down and seals the bottom off again... kinda spring loaded...

I did learn what should've been painfully obvious - use a clear teacup with it - otherwise you can't tell when the cup is full til it overflows!

they have a blend called diet tea that we had in tampa that was really good. forgot what was in it, but the samarai mate was in it for sure. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the aztec one that has cacao and strawberries. like a dessert.

have these shot teas from ITO called SENCHA SHOTS. yum if you like really earthy green tea plain. they also have a HOJI tea, which is amazing. hoji tea is roasted green tea. I use this one in my marinades and sauces.

Trained with coach today. Nothing too heavy, just lots of volume.

Snatches to 38kg

C&J to 45kg

Planning to do some squats and stuff tomorrow. Tired now - it was hot as hell and very humid in the garage today. Otherwise, things are good. Planning to go to the movies tonight.

Yeah. It's not 100% - like I still get random numbness and such - but at least it's not like a searing pain anymore. That's a good thing!

Trainined today. Do you ever wake up and you have a pulled/sore muscle and you're like, wtf how did that happen? Well I had this weird pulled muscle in my chest and hurt on my collarbone. Whatever, did some extra warmups and I was fine.

Warmups - etc

Front Squats - 1x20kg, 1x30kg, 1x35kg, 1x40kg, 1x45kg, 1x50kg, 1x52.5kg, 1x55kg, 1x57.5kg, 1x58.5kg

Rack Jerks - 2x20kg, 1x30kg, 1x40kg, 1x42.5kg, 1x45kg, 3x1x47.5kg, 1x48.5kg, 1x49.5kg, 1x50.5kg

Reverse Hypers - 3x10xBW+5# DB held between feet

HIGH (way high) step ups - 3x5xBW+10#

Done. Good workout. SI is finally feeling better so I moved the front squats up a bit. Not quite where they should be but I'm just taking my time.

Forgot to log yesterday's workout.

Warmups

Snatch - 3x20kg, 2x25kg, 1x30kg, 1x32.5kg, 2x1x35kg, 6x1x36kg, 2x1x37.5kg, 1x38.5kg, 1x40kg, 1x41kg, 1x42.5kg, 2x1x43.5kg

Front Squats - 6x5x41kg

That's it.

Went to my PT session yesterday. CTS continues to improve. Did some PT work on strengthening wrists and then got rolfed. SI continues to improve. I'm don't want to jinx myself though so still taking it easy on squats and other heavy stuff.

One of those days today at the gym. In the area where I train, there's a GIANT skating treadmill where hockey players train. It's the loudest damn thing in the world and I really try to avoid being there when anyone is using it. Like, it's jet engine loud and hurts my ears. I think because it's summer and kids are out of school and not playing hockey...the treadmill has be busy. Today eight kids were training on it. To add to that, two dudes were doing the boxing stuff including one hitting the speed back over and over and over and over and over and over and over. I would have screamed but nobody would have heard me over the noise of the damn treadmill. Despite it all, workout was good.

Warmups - usual

C&J - 1x20kg, 1x25kg, 1x30kg, 1x32.5kg, 1x35kg, 1x37.5kg, 6x1x40kg, 1x45kg, 2x1x46kg, 1x47.5kg, 1x48.5kg, 1x50kg, 1x45kg, 1x40kg

Front Squats - 6x2x41kg

Reverse Hypers - 2x10xBW+5# DB, 1x10xBW+10# DB between feet

That's all. Cleans were somehow easy today. Super fast and snappy. I was really tempted to go up higher but I told myself I would stop at 50 today so as to not mess with the SI issues. Patience.

Ugh, I TOLD you man, I'm not fan of Bon Jovi! If I have to pick a hair band from the 80s (and this was definitely NOT my genre as a punk girl) I would go with Motley Crue. They are badass.

hahahaha!!!

you're just not appreciating the ultimate cheesiness of bon jovi and the sooooooo stupid lyrics he provides. (not to say that montley crue doesn't live up to this quota as well).

The last two nights have been AWFUL. CTS was back with a vengeance. Last night I felt like I barely slept, but somehow did. Decided to train anyway and it was actually okay. Wrists feel fine and are actually feeling much stronger. I think the last two nights were bad because I got my wrists worked on and have also been doing some wrist strengthening work. Also, have been retaining some extra water the last two days. Whatever...it's frustrating but I'll live.
