when i was doing ghr's a lot, i know i did a set with at least 20. I think i got over 30 once. I don't feel like checking my log though. And, i'm 6'3".

Had a pretty decent training session today with the other local lifters and the coach. I think taking the week off did me some good. Snatches weren't "on" today, but I did a quite a lot at 30kg. Didn't go any higher because things just weren't working that great. I'm not dropping fast enough and I'm still arming it a bit. Clean and Jerks started out horrible, but I FINALLY got my jerks worked out and did a bunch at 40kg. Finished off the workout with some 60kg front squats.

Trained again today. My schedule will be pretty busy this week so I figured I might as well train while I can. I worked on snatches and clean & jerks, trying to incorporate what I learned yesterday. Both were feeling pretty good.
Snatches 3x2x20kg, 2x2x25kg, 2x2x27.5kg, 6x1x35kg
Clean + 5 Jerks 20kgx1, 25kgx1, 30kgx1
C&J 3x1x35kg, 5x1x40kg, 2x1x42.5kg
Oly Back Squats 2x1x60kg, 2x1x65kg
Jerks were feeling really, really good today . The coach helped me a lot yesterday and told me I was actually the bar slip too far down my chest which really shifted the bar into my hands prior to jerking. I need to rest the bar on my collarbones. This feels pretty damn uncomfortable at first, but it makes the bar fly up with no pain whatsoever. Makes it really easy to just drop into the split. Weird how very minor tweaks make a big difference. I think once I get used to the feeling of the bar resting there (without choking myself), my C&J numbers will start to climb. The last PR I had on those was 50kg and that was in December. I haven't tried to push it since then due to my calf injury and my shoulder problems.
Squats were hard work today. I really haven't worked on my back squat much lately. It is so much harder going ALL the way down rather than to parallel. I was squatting 175x3 to parallel not that long ago, but today 65kg just felt really damn heavy. I can front squat 60kg, you would think my back squat would be much higher. Definitely need to work on that.

agreed. I think the cue of getting it up there was more helpful than anything. I was definitely letting it slip down and it made jerking just feel wrong (and painful). Not sure if I have insufficient anterior delts or not though.

Warmup: the usual
C&Js - worked up to 42.5kg doing mostly singles. Total of 21 done. Overall these are feeling very good. Moving the bar up to the clavicle has made the jerk consistantly better, with the downside being that when the bar gets too heavy I can't friggin' breath and I get lightheaded. This is NOT good. I'll be playing with this a bit this week and discussing with the coach on Saturday. Every time I shift the bar down, the jerks just aren't quite there.

Passing out is no bueno! Can you shrug your shoulders a tad to rest it more on your delts? It keeps it off your vital structures. Hopefully Manny has some suggestions... I"m sure Bud will as well.
