Yuck on the work, Jill. Your workouts like pretty damn good to me and I am glad you are at least able to get them in, being so busy at work.

Hey, guess what? When you only get 5 hours of sleep you end up having a crappy workout! All was not lost, pin squats were decent and I was just happy to be away from my work. So that's something.

Warmup

C&J - singles to 45kg. These were just not great today. When i"m not well rested or if i'm stressed stressed...the oly stuff really suffers. 2x2x20kg, 2x25kg, 2x1z30kg, 2x1x35kg, 1x37.5kg, 1x40kg, 1x42.5kg, 4x1x45kg, 3x1x35kg

Jerk Recoveries - 5x2x50kg

Pin Squats - 2x40kg, 4x2x45kg, 2x47kg

done.

Being away from work is a GOOD bonus... Hope it gets better on that front soon!

Another crappy night of sleep last night. Not sure what is going on with me. I went to sleep plenty early but woke up a bunch of times. It's frustrating. Schedules got messed up today and so I wasn't able to go train with my coach. So, I went to the local commercial gym.

Warmups

Back Squats - 2x45#, 2x65#, 2x95#, 2x115#, 2x135#, 3x2x145#

Behind Head Push Press - 2x45#, 2x65#, 3x85#, 3x3x90#

Chins - 2x5xBW, 1x4xBW

High Stepups - 5xBW+10#, 2x5xBW+15#

Pull thrus 2x10x#8 on cable stack

That's it. It's been about a year or more since I've done back squats. They just never felt good to me oly style so I have done variations of front squats for the most part. Tried them today and they felt good. Started with 145# (65.8kg) and will work up from there. Hoping this will help be break thru the 64kg ceiling I've been hitting up against on my front squat. We'll see.

Tomorrow I'll do my oly training session.

are you drinking caffeine before bed? Or more importantly, is there caffeine in all the teas you're drinking? I notice i'm restless if i drink it a few hours before.

I don't understand the problem with work evaluations. Tell everyone they are above average. Done. Solved. Over with. Move on, nothing to see here.

I'm not drinking any more tea than usual and most doesn't have caffeine I think it's just stress. Once my workload diminishes I'll be sleeping like a baby again. I hope!

^^ Thanks Roland!

Had a long Mother's Day workout this morning. Then went and grabbed a post-workout donut with my boy and took him to the carnival. Ugh...carnies.

Warmups

Snatch - singles up to 35kg. These were not workin' for me today.

C&J - singles up to 45kg

Jerks Behind Head - doubles to 40kg

Speed Front Squats - 5x1x50kg

That's it.

HEY!
What's wrong with carnies?
I was a carnie.
Well, my parents were.
Um… actually… forget it.

I knew there was something about you....

Carnies freak me out. I feel like I need to watch my pockets. It was weird at this carnival, the usual carnies were working all the games and the rides were operated by young guys with Australian and South African accents. Like...carnies in training?

Oooooh, I've always been freakishly obsessed with carnies! I loved that HBO show Carnivale. When I was a kid, I'd got to the fair/carnival and wander through the area where the carnies "lived". I was a weird kid.

a few years back, for English, we read Geek Love - what an odd book but worth the read, I think - I'm still not sure several years later.

I read that book a while back. It was good! May be worth a re-read. Jane might like it. Hey, remember the movie "Carny" with Jodie Foster and Gary Busey?

I did read that book!!! Freaky!! I've always had morbid/weird fascinations with obscure things. Have no idea where they came from!

Lisa, it was recommended to me somehow....I either read a review of it (I think that's what it was, actually...maybe in Vanity Fair), or I probably wouldn't have found it, either.
