So I worked out this morning. I kept it really light because I'm pretty damn tired from yesterday. I wanted to get some non-OL stuff out of the way per my usual Sunday.
Warmup and stretching (sore today)
Speed Front Squats - 2x20kg, 2x30kg, 2x40kg, 5x2x45kg (kept these light today)
Jill, how does a competition day compare to a regular workout? How much pre comp warmups, etc do you do to keep ready? Is the volume comparable to a training day?

Volume is somewhat comparable to a training day but I usually don't max-out on a training day. First I do my stretching and such, then some work with the bar, then a timed warmup where you're doing a lift about every two minutes with the weight gradually increasing, leading up to my first attempt. Depending on how many lifters come between first, second or third attempts, he may have me do another lighter lift in-between.
It's weird though. Even though my top clean & jerk during my normal training sessions are around 50-51kg, just doing 54kg takes a lot more out of me. It's not much heavier, but I can feel it today in my traps.

Thanks!

I'm sure it's the stress of competition, too. Pressure and anticipation. Pushing yourself to the limit.
LOVE IT!! Looking great ... lean, strong, rockin' it mama!!
He wasn't playing his Leapster by chance, was he? (I thought I recognized the beeps and bloops!!)
Question ... is it your right shoulder/neck that used to give you trouble?
Yep, leapster. Yep, it IS the right shoulder/neck that I've always had trouble with. I'm sure you noticed it's that side that I have trouble regarding lockouts on my lifts too. What's your recommendation?

Yeah ... no specific recommendations ... what's the master say?

Jerk Recoveries - 3x2x35kg, 2x40kg, 2x45kg, 2x50kg, 3x2x52.5kg (this is the first time I've done these and it took a while for me to get the hang of them).
I love PB & J sammies, with a big old glass of milk and with strawberry jam only. Add some Doritos into the middle and it is a damn wonderful thing. A foodie and proud of it.
Love that video. Sometimes I wonder what some of the things in here are, so I am glad Bytsi asked.
It still blows me away how easy you make the lifts look.

Trained with my coach today. It was just a so-so workout. I was feeling a little sluggish for some reason. I've been working a ton of hours, so that could be the problem.
Snatches - worked up to 40kg and did a few at that weight . These were pretty good today.
C&J - singles up to 48kg. Cleans pretty much sucked today, but jerks were good.
Overall not bad. I'm always happy to train with my group of lifters so even when I'm not feeling my best, there are lots of good things to take away from it. Planning to squat tomorrow and do some misc. non-OL stuff. I'm then packing and heading on a trip to Florida through Wednesday.
Pin Squats - 2x20, 2x30kg, 2x40kg, 6x2x45kg (I fixed my form on these I think. Bar much further back towards my throat and starting further back on heels. Had to drop the weight by 5kg cuz they were HARD).
Push Press from behind head - 3x20kg, 3x30kg, 3x36kg, 3x37.5kg, 3x38.5kg
Chins - 3x5xBW
Bulgarian Split Squats (ugh) - 2x5x25# DBs
Pushups - 2x5xBW+10#
I'm off on a biz trip and won't likely get a chance to train until Thursday.
