Good post-xmas workout today. Santa brought me a super sweet HD video cam, but I need new software to upload and edit the film.
Warmups
Snatch - singles up to 40kg
C&J - singles up to 45kg
Cleans - 1x47.5kg, 1x50kg, 2x1x52kg (FAIL both times)
Jerks weren't really working for me today, but everything else felt pretty good. I'm off skiing for a few days and will be back on Monday.

Workouts looking good, Jill! I'm scared to even try anything I've been away for what seems to be forever!

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaack. We had a lot of fun skiing. I forgot how exhausting it can be! The little guy took some group lessons, but isn't sold on the sport yet. I think we may try to take him one more time this year to see if he takes to it.
Planning a workout later today.

Welcome back Jill - sounds like you had a good time. I was/am listening to an NPR podcast where they were featuring Detroit and efforts to revitalize the city, so I thought of you.

Ugh, they definitely have their work cut out for them. Which NPR show was it? PM me the link/info?

Skiing, hmm, that's one of those cold weather sports? No, no thank you. One of the neighbours was at the door earlier talking about it being a nice day for a walk, but being too busy to go. I don't know, it may be sunny, but it's cold out!
Just popping by to spread some good wishes for the New Year. May the new year bring with it some of what you wish for.

First workout of 2009 is behind me. It was mixed. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night...not because I was out partying...I just couldn't sleep.
Warmup - sots press, clean grip shrugs, clean grip scarecrow pull, DH cleans
Jerk Balances - 5x2x37.5kg
2-position Cleans (F+H) - 5x1x35kg (these were horrible today)
Speed Squats - 4x2x48.5kg
Clean Grip Rows - 2x5x37.5kg
Happy New Year everyone!

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year!!!
Sounds like me! But I was woken up at midnight by various neighbors setting off fireworks.
Hope you're having a happy New Year, Jill.

I hate the nights you don't sleep for any real reasons. They usually sap me of energy completely the next day. Well, that and make me a bit goofy in the afternoons.

my first workout was last night. I used the standardized westside split, but combined the ME and RE work.
Repeated effort (RE): bicep curls w/ beer to lips
Max Effort (ME): sleeping
I skipped the ab work (puking), because i never like to do that anyway.

Hey, that's something. Oh, by the way...I ordered a Tall Americano w/an extra shot yesterday. Mmmmm...delicious!

Since I don't know any better, and using my frame of reference, I'd've guessed "stout".
