Today is a good day. The weather is beautiful, I'm back home after a few days in Florida on bizniss, I got my truck out of winter storage , and I had a great workout.
Warmup: the usual stuff plus some extra shoulder warmups
C&J 3x2x35kg, 4x1x37.5kg, 5x1x40kg
Jerks behind head 3x5x60#, 2x5x65#
Chins 3x5xBW, 2x4xBW
You're hooking, right? (Hmmm, bets as to how long it takes for that statement to get misconstrued... LOL)
You can always tape over your calluses too. When I was wrapping the one hand, the calluses got significantly smaller w/o compromising my grip at all.

Hooking yes. I just ripped my hands up a couple weeks ago because I used chalk and it f-ed my hands up. Now I'm recovering from it. Chins always kill my hands anyway. I just need to pummice the hell out of my hands to get rid of those calluses.
Can you 'splain this, please? I have no idea what that means - well, not as far as how it applies to lifting, anyway...... the OTHER meaning, I get!
Hooking = using a hook grip. It's a grip you use in olympic lifting where you wrap your hand around the bar w/your thumb on the inside instead of the outside.
if you tape your fingers, don't tape over the joints.
I taped over my joints by accident on saturday. I took the tape off, and my fingers were purple b/c the tape tightened and somehow bruised my fingers. They didn't hurt at all, but i figured the blood supply was probably cut off....

The Tigers? The team that lost to the Royals on opening day?

Thanks for the explanation (and the linky!) - looks like it hurts!!
You look like you're feeling kinda unstable on the catch. I thought you were going to fall backards a few times. And then you had to ditch that first attempt w/ 37
Not bad looking to my admittedly not-well-trained eye.

Yep, I am still struggling with technique though things are definitely improving. I think snatches are just ridiculously difficult...which is why they're so much fun.
Wow, those big, low windows behind you would scare me. Knowing me and my not-so-graceful self, I'd end up stumbling backwards and right through and out of that window. Kersplat.
Congrats on the 37.5! And not going through the window.

Congrats on the PR! It's great that you have it on video.

So the weather sucks here today and I'm stuck with the kid since my husband is out of town for the weekend. That means no training w/the lifting group since I couldn't find anyone to babysit. So I just did a regular workout at the gym near my house (no oly equipment).
Front Squats 5x3x120# (the bar was one of those fat ones...do those weigh 50#? If so, add 5# to everything I did)
