I ripped TWO calluses last Saturday and they are still bothering me. I hate when that happens.

Went in today to do some heavy-but-not-max stuff.

I don't have a spotter and really just didn't feel like spending the time and effort to hit a real max.

2-board - 225x1, 245x1, 265x1
Full squat - up to a paltry 315x1
Finished up with bodybuilding crap for chesticles, lats, and arms.

All sets were comfortable, 'cept the squats. Dunno what's been up with those lately, just havent' felt strong. I was somewhat holding back for the DL test on Weds, which I think should be somewhat stronger, but still.

As soon as I started reading the book I could literally feel the SYNAPSES in my brain CHANGE PHASE allowing me to see things in a WHOLE NEW WAY!
This thing is SPECTACULAR! Despite my YEARS of training experience, I've switched exclusively to using 5-D training on myself and ALL OF MY friends and family (by FORCE if necessary)!
The information is presented in a format that even my ILLITERATE HALFWIT BROTHER-IN-LAW can understand!.
The secrets in the bonus materials are easily worth $1000s and they are FREE!

Went in tonight and did some pullin'

I feel like a weak-ass kitten, but it is what it is.

DLs, up to 455x1, then two misses w/ 505

These were all raw, mostly un-psyched attempts (meaning, street clothes, no belt, and only chalk on the second attempt at 505) and with the right hand still semi-torn up from taht callus rip. 455 was smooth sailing, but 505 was damn near stapling me. Oh well.

Finished up w/ some GHRs, pullthroughs, and reverse hypers.

Also, I was up like 5-6 lbs. Fucking Alabama. I have to periodize my drinking better. Today was a "low" day, but last night was "medium".

Did some cardio/depletion stuff today

Hammer Strength OHP, 2 sets of 12
Pulldowns, 2 sets of 12
Shoulder raises, 2 sets of 12
Barbell curls, 1 set of 15. This really pumped up my gunz and made me look all swole.
Overhead pushdowns, 2 sets of 12

25 minutes on the cycle

No idea what those are. Google didn't really help. I kept trying to picture them but the words didn't fit into a coherent picture. Like the phrase "sexy Reba McEntire".

Glad you got your swole on.

They're just tricep extensions done on the cable stack, with the arms up over my head instead of by the sides like in a normal pushdown. Nothing special, just a change of pace.

I've been playing throwing together a Sheiko-inspired routine of my own that I may start soon. I doubt while I'm in 'bama because I've been going out a lot and not eating all that well with a lot of motivation to skip workouts.

That is funny.

I've heard of a little known soviet technique.
It's basically block quasi-periodization with max tests every 4 weeks.
Except during college football season when you have a max test every home game. It might work for you.

Also, nice pulls.
I hope someday to be weak as a kitten.

Yeah no kidding. I was back up to 208 today

Squats, 8x2/225
Bench, 6x2/185
Deadlifts off platform, 10 singles/225+minis
GHR, 3 sets of 3 negatives

Trying something a little different, more Sheiko inspired but not really. Hamstrings are fucking ridiculously weak. That GHR has to improve, soon.

Matt, with your band pressing are you working on lockout strength?
Weight seems too heavy for speed work.

Just variation on the pressing. It's not for speed work in particular.

Hey Matt:

What's an appropriate sub for weighted dips??? I started Starr's Intermediate 5x5 and am not sure what to sub for these.
