Sounds like a perfect time to take a little break from lifting. A little time off from the gym will give you that hour, hour and a half to finish your work and get to bed all that much earlier. IMO, lifting at the expense of getting no sleep and more stress is worse than not lifting and getting your sleep and stress under control.
Your call.

...I'm taking the rest of the week off and de-loading next week. I need sleep and to focus on school right now, plus today on the way up in the 195 squat soemthing happened in my lower back. I finished the rest of the workout but couldn't squat anything more than 135 w/o feeling pain and when I went to do the fourth set of seated good mornings the pain was excruciating. I shouldn't have pushed it today, now I have to take a break. Oh well, I'll be back in it hard time in a week or so, rested, finished w/ school and ready to lift big.

Ten total reps is pretty good dude. There was a time I couldn't even do that.
Are all the school issues over?

Haha, ok. Good to know I'm not completely oblivious.

Uhm, well I got a lot of the work done this weekend. But the next three weeks will be kind of stressful just because it the end of the semester and exams. I only have two exams though and like I said got almost everything out of the way this weekend. So I'm feeling a lot better.
I have five exams from mon-thurs this week, and a major assignment due on Wednesday. Now that is stress

Oh, well then...all hail Matt, the exam-taking, major assignment doing, weight lifting, ability to deal with stress having virtuoso.
I'm just horrible with stress management, my dwindling numbers in the weight room display that pretty well I think. But hey, it's something I'm working on, even if my sources of stress are lame.

Sweet.
Everyone deals with stress differently. I deal with it in a very negative/destructive way: I avoid it. I haven't studied more than ten minutes for any of my five courses. Not having to study = not being stressed out.
I also got 90 on my exam this morning, and will probably fall somewhere between 80-90 on my morning exam tomorrow, as well as my exam on Wednesday.
The consequence of doing so well in three courses without being bogged down by work, however, is borderline failing the other two courses. Again I avoid stress by not caring about the other two courses, because they're "not important". Destructive.
You need to find a way to de-stress. A more productive way than mine, though. People will tell you stress is a part of life but they're wrong, it's only a part of their life because they don't know how to deal with it properly. They get used to it, and tell you to do the same.
Your life should not be stressful, in my opinion. If it is then you're missing a very important step.
Find out what that step is. It'll be different for everyone. I'm still trying to find mine, I can't wait to bring some stress into my life by actually doing some school work and having a job again.
Wow I'm preachy. Sorry

I'm working on better de-stress methods...sports used to take care of that, and that's one reason why I took up lifting. But next year I'll have my beloved sports back plus lifting. I'll be able to rock some girls instead of just some weights. Till then, I fall into the avoiding it/doing dumb stuff category. That will just have to suffice for the next 3 weeks
Hah, I do what Matthew does I'm just super relaxed because I never think about anything, and ignore stuff most of the time. Hey, it works!
It works for a certain amount of time, but I'm one of those ppl where it bubbles up and eventually I pop w/o some sort of release. But its good to kno i have fellow non-thinkers out there.
Do you listen to Disturbed?
If not, start. I recommend The Sickness and 10,000 Fists or whatever their last one was called.
ps. Disturbed fans, I hear a new album is due out in a few months!

I definitely recommend The Sickness. That was the first album of theirs I heard, and I've been a fan ever since.

that is the worst song in the world without a doubt.
It is horrible...and I'm a little embarassed to admit it holds a special place in my heart.
Just cardio today... 30mins. 15mins on the treadmill and 15 on the bike. Felt really, really good today. My sleep is finally getting back to normal!
Also I noticed today that as my legs become leaner and more defined the fact that they are different sizes also becomes more apparant... I guess its worth it, but I feel as though it only adds to my clumsy/awkward/gracelessness
My back is worse than I thought. I think I need to lay off the deadlifts for a little after today. I only got the first 3 reps (135, 185, then 135lbs) and the pain was back in full force. I'm gonna keep the weight on the squats low too. I need to focus on my form work and my way up from there and not worry about making my goals for May. I'd rather get set back a couple months and do shit right than hurt my back permanately at the age of 19 and be screwed for the rest of my life.
Everything felt good yesterday. I really liked the dimel deads, I think I could have used more weight though. And the squats felt good, I might have tried more weight but there was no one else in the gym to spot me so I didn't want to do anything stupid. So close to being done w/ school, 2 more days of classes and 13 days till summer. Can't wait... I definitely feel the stress melting off and will definitely be able to focus a lot more on lifting this summer!
Well it got a little sore yesterday after doing deads and squats. But I realized it had a lot to do with my warming up and also with my form. So I really focused yesterday on getting it all right, and I noticed a big difference. That's another reason why I didn't go for a bigger squat, like I said before I want to focus on getting the right form and work my way from there. I took some ibuprofen this morning cause I was feeling some discomfort but not nearly as much as before and I've been putting heat on it too.
nice.. a 225lbs box squat is a good lift. Ive found my free squat is constantly 20% higher then my box squat.. if thats the case with you, your squat goal is going to happen quick.
