If it's caused from a whole bunch of things, it's not random. Because it's caused by something. Stupid.

Lack of sleep could be a reason, good point.
But good meal planning can make up for a lack of sleep sometimes, definitely if it's only over a short period of time (a few days to a week I find).

bad sleep + enough food > bad sleep + not enough food

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I think that you all make good points...
and to some extent I think that all the factors have some effect on both one another and most importantly my lifting. Everything has been kinda out of whack for me lately and some days it affects my lifting more than others. But diet is something that I can definitely control, and if nothing else it will cause my mind to think I will lift better, which means I most likely will. I'm extremely mental when it comes to lifting, so anything I do that convinces my brain I can lift more means I probably will. I'll get a better pre/post workout meal in on Wed and see how it goes.

Off to try and get some off that much desired and needed sleep.

Tues April 1
Nutrtion
*2 Hot Rox Supplements
915 4 hardboiled eggs, sm. apple
1130 3oz baked chicken w/o skin, ½ cup mixed veggies (carrots, beans, brocolli)
100 ¾ cup brocolli, ½ can tuna w/ pickles
*2 Hot Rox Supplements
330 1.5oz mixed nuts and dried fruits…yummy
600 2oz baked ham, ½ cup cherry tomatoes and cucumbers
*3 fish oils, 2 multivitamins

Side notes:
The beggining of my day sucked. I slept through my bio lab this morning and went down to eat b-fast with a friend who is just tiny. I was really hungry and the bacon and muffins and french toast looked oh so yummy. But I resisted... going for my usual. I get to our table and of course there's my skinny friend, plate full of french toast and sausage, a bowl of fruit loops sitting to the left of it. With this she had a Starbucks Frappucino and a nice big glass of orange juice. She fit all that food in her tiny body somehow. Grr...I just ate my eggs and apple in silence and hurried off to get to my bio lecture.

At least my day got better. A while back I saw a few friends from the football team right after one of their winter workouts. They had been doing stuff with tires, and I got really excited asking them all about what they did. Today one of them called me saying that their coach is going to let me go do their tire workout w/ the team tomorrow morning...at 6 am. This is a lot earlier than I usually wake up, I dont have class until 945, but I'm not passing up a chance to get a tire workout in w/ the football team. Hell no.

Also went out today and got some food to eat b4 and after my workouts that will hopefully give me a little bit of a boost! I'll find out early enough tomorrow morning.

Nope. Guys football. I'm always in the gym working out when the football team is in there. I go to a miniscule college and am like the only girl that lifts anything so it was always just them and me in the gym. And the coach loves me since I'm always in there. So he said I could join them tomorrow morning. It'll be an experience, I hope I can keep up.

The tire workout sounds awesome! Have fun! Don't worry about the skinny girl and what SHE eats. I bet she's not getting invited to do a tire workout w/the football team.

+1 for L'ilJ

Plus, you look pretty darn good in that picture. Nothing to worry about kiddo.

Lucky football team
I've had a few girls tell me they want to lift with me, but none ever do. Good for you for going through with it, and not being intimidated. Now go show those losers how it's done!

tire flipping is fun, but very challenging and humbling. Don't think about it as deadlifting the tire, but cleaning it...

good luck! let us know how it is!

Walking Lunges

25minute run.

Workout went fine yesterday, didn't get to do the tire workout b/c the boys switched their workout time, so at 6 I was up, had eaten, and ready to go only to find out it was a no go. Food was a little out of wack, and today might not be any better on account I lost our meal cards last night when I was awakened from good sleep for a fire alarm, so have to make due today.

That sucks about the morning workout. Try to plan it for another day.

How do you find the seated goodmornings?

Yeah, apparently they haven't done their tire workout yet so I'll still get to do it...I just don't know when it will be.
And the seated good mornings are different, I'm not exactly sure if I'm sold on them yet. I think they're worth trying, but I don't know how long I'll keep them in my workout.

Fri April 4
ME LOWER
Box Squats
45x10 95x3 135x1 155x1 185x1 205x1 235x1
Pistol Squats
x10 x10 x10
Leg Curls
60x15 60x15 60x15
SUPERSET
Hanging Leg Raises
x15 x15 x15
Offset barbell side bends
15ex15 10ex15 10ex15
/SUPERSET

Today's workout was all right. I was out really late last night and it reflected in my workout...I barely got the 135 squat today so I didn't even push it. A girl in the gym today asked me what sport I played, I said none, that I just lift. Then she asked me if I played anything in high school, I told her lacrosse and soccer to which she replied "Oh, I thought you looked like a softball player." Wasn't really sure what to take from that comment...
*On the nutrition side of things, on the weekends it seems to go to to shit, which I'm working on but between not having class today and last night, it hasn't gone too well. Something to work on.

Damn, girl. Nice box squats.

WTH does a softball player look like, anyway?

Here's one:

Looks pretty badass to me. So, I'd take it as a compliment.

Softball player is also code-word for really butch lesbian.

Sorta like working at the UPS warehouse, or cleaning carpet.

Rugby, too (for chicks anyway).

How about asking someone is she's a field hockey player? What's that code for? Or was someone just calling me thick back in the day?

Yeah...thats what I was scared of. But whatever neither of them ^ look like butch lesbians... and I didn't think I did. Maybe she was just taken aback by my muscular arms, and could come to no other conclusion... I can only wish.

Idk, most of the field hockey players I know are hot and super tough. Id say it was a compliment.

When all the treadmills are taken just go outside without even thinking about it. Find a good place to run without thinking about the running you're going to be doing. Do this because you planned to run today and god dammit you're going to no matter who tries to stop you or what gets in your way.

Find a starting point and a marker so you run the same distance each time. And just try to run that distance faster each time you do it.
It's not about pushing yourself, it's about trying to beat your time because it's fun and because it feels good when you do.

Or you can just use this:
There's a bear chasing you! There's a bear chasing you! RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN!!!!! AHHHHHHH! RUN RUN RUN!
ok he's gone, walk back.
OH MY GOD THERE HE IS AGAIN!! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! AHHHHHHHHH!

(alco must be used to hearing that last line. hehehe. let's see if he notices I wrote this)

Now I just feel guilty/ like I'll be letting myself down if I don't run. So, instead of watching tv/working on a paper due tomorrow(which I prob wouldnt be doing if I was watching tv) I'm gonna go back to the gym and run. No one will be in there now, and if the treadmills are taken, god dammit I'll go outside and run...thanks for the encouragement

Good for you for going to run instead of putting it off.

Now you just have to carry that over into your school work

I don't know about your school, but here your entire mark is only comprised of a few assignments/exams. It's not like high school where you have thirty things and as long as you hand in 20 of them you're sure to pass. Now everything is worth more than 15% of your final mark, and not doing one thing can = a failed class, or at least a B instead of an A.

Do the paper.

I got the paper done eventually last night, but I never got to sleep. This is starting to be a problem. Plus I have so much stuff to get done these next 3 weeks its going to be crazy. Oh well I just gotta keep pressing through, its making me crazy though. I've been extra moody lately and all the stress is definitely having an effect on my lifting too. My max bench is 20lbs lower than it was 2 months ago...ugh.

Nobody keeps up peak performance year round.

Stress in the gym has to take a back seat to stress in "real life".

Plan your training accordingly. ie, don't plan to be setting PRs while you've got all that going on. Lift, sure, but reduce your exercise dramatically.
