Thanks! Thinking about hitting a triple with 315 next time I squat heavy.

Today: football playoffs, round 2.
We lost, 26-6. Which isn't that bad, considering this team shut us out and scored 40 on us last game. They're just so athletic/big--they had a guy who played football at UMaryland.

I actually played pretty well. Didn't give up any sacks, and neutralized their rusher, who is one of the better ones in the league. Definitely improved my blocking this season.

Now, we have about a month or two off before the spring league. I'm going to throw in some gpp and keep getting stronger, which should be more than enough prep.

---
2 weeks down of eating good. I've actually been taking weekly pictues/measurements(I'm a fag, I know). Measurement around the navel is down almost 2 inches, and pics show a nice difference. I'm pretty thrilled, as I've leaned out a tad while adding 50 lbs to my squat.

Also, I found a "progress pic" that I took right before I started lifting, where I was 135.. BIG difference between now and then. It makes me cringe to see how small I was.

Going to go out with the family tonight for steak for my b-day, should be nice.

We ended up going to a Thai place instead, as the other place was booked out(it's Jew week down here, impossible to go to most restaurants as they are too crowded). Pretty solid meal:
salad
some fried appetizers
Chicken curry-first time trying curry--interesting.
Noodles
Lychee nuts
a tomato in the salad

Pretty upset that I caved in and ate the tomato. I am SO not a t-man

Anyways, this meal should make for a great workout tomorrow. We're aiming for 255x5 squats.

I did 315x20 yesterday. I just didn't post it because I was soooo tired from that set.

Volume Day

Squats
5x5x255 +10

Military Press
5x5x115 hit all reps this time

Deadlift
1x5x340 +2 reps

Chin-ups
1x11xBW
1x5xBW

Comments:
-good shit. I love these monday workouts, where I can put more weight on the bar. I worked out with a friend, which helped. He's a tad bro, but he's a worker. Which makes for a solid gym partner
-squats were tough, but doable. Not sure I can swing 265 next time. Maybe 260.
-militaries were tough, too, but I'll take the improvement.
-Deads were GREAT. Surprised at how fast they went up.
-I'll do some light cardio tomorrow, just to get some blood flowing.

you can do 265. stop thinking you can't. It's just 5 rep sets, it's not like it's 20.

Exactly. Besides, you did 275 for 5 at the END of that big squatting session last week.

It's in your head.

I probably can, you guys are right. I'm not doing 5x5 squats, however, until 2 weeks from today. Plenty of time to rest.

That set of 275 for 5 was probably the hardest set I have ever done. I was lying on a bench and wheezing for a good 5 minutes afterwards.

But, I'll have 275x5x5 soon. These squats are moving up very nicely.

Simon, I'm going on Model UN for part of this week and next. So next monday I'll be in a hotel in Stamford, Connecticut.

I HATE taking breaks from lifting, especially when I get into a groove like this, but, hey, what are you gonna do, right? It's a chance to rest up.

Nice work with the squats man. Just keep adding weight to the bar and squatting. I'm finding the same is working for me with the fronts squats I've been doing the last couple of weeks. I'll think I won't be able to do 'um but say suck it up and at least hit 3. By the time I hit the 3rd rep, I'm feeling good enough to get the last 2. Just adding weight to the bar each week helps. I don't do it exactly the same as you with the sets all at the same weight. I've been setting them up so that my last set is a new PR. It's been working for me so I'll stick with it. As long as it keeps working, just go with the flow.

Whatever Day

Deadlifts
1x5x135
1x3x225
1x1x275
1x1x315
1x?x375-not sure if I locked it out at at top. Will post vid though.
5x3x315

DB Bench
3x6x80e
1x11x60e

lots of pullups, chins, ect.

reverse grip tricep pushdowns

facepulls

Comments:
-eh. legs were a bit sore.
-Deadlift is sucking it up right now. I'm stiff-legging the weight waay to much and my lockout SUCKS. I have to work more on using my glutes--they don't really fire at all.
-not sure if I locked out 375. Maybe I'll post a vid later so you guys can judge it for me.
-everything else was OK.
-Pretty excited for model un/my 18th birthday, which is tomorrow. Model UN should be a blast, and I'm staying with my cousin in nyc till sunday. When I get back next week I'm hitting up the big seminole casino down here.
-I'll try to update on the trip if anything happens.
