-good stuff. This was more than it seems like.
-Squats went well. I wore a hoody, just so the bar didn't dig into my back as much. Worked well. Squats themselves were solid. None were really bust-a-nut, but hard over all.
-Everything else was fine, I guess. A good amount of volume.
-Not sure what I'm gonna do on friday--either cross the rubicon and hit 305for 3x5, or go for a heavy ass squat. Any suggestions?
Wow, nice squatting.

I'd say go for 305 for 3x5, and go for a max single the week after to hit something big, you don't really need to test your max so often(although it can be fun!)

And, err... 3x5x295 = recovery? Damn, I can't wait for "intensity"

Oh wait, you said friday. Let me add to that: Only go for 305 for 3x5 if you feel fully recovered, heavy squats 2x per week! thats hard! and then maybe a max the friday after?

Yeah, I'm aiming towards 5's. I want 315x5x5 soon, and this seems the best way to reach it.

I should also have noted that I wasn't fully recovered from monday--my hammies were sore today.

I know I'm pushing up the weights fast, but sometimes you feel like your body wants to grow, and you want to ride that wave as far at it goes. This is one of those times. Getting plenty of rest, and giving my body plenty of nutrients to grow with.

Squatting heavy on a wednesday when still sore from monday and then planning to squat even heavier on friday = plenty of rest? You're kinda pushing it to the limit, but as you said, ride this wave as far as it goes, make the most of the situation.

I meant rest as getting enough sleep each night--I've been going to bed before eleven the entire week.

Yeah, that pretty much describes how being a senior is at my point. The only HW I really do is AP calculus, and that's because I find it fun. Besides that, I have plenty of time to lift/eat/work/dick around/watch tv/chill with friends, ect. I'm usually bored by 11, anyways.

Hah, this week has been like that for me. My school week just finished a couple of hours ago(11am thursday), after a whole 9 hours of lectures this week over 4 days. I have sooo much spare time it's not funny(like the next 4 days), it's just plain boring. This will soon change, full school schedule starts in week 2 or 3(19 hours or so per week).

Go to the bar man.

It's easy pickins there.

Agree. Take advantage of being in a country that doesn't have aridiculously high drinking age.

Today:
Not much. Just resting for tomorrow's workout. 305 for 3x5 on thesquat, 200 for 5's on the bench, and some heavy pulling.

Today's annoyance:
-I tutor students, and today, one of my clients calls me to reschedule for later that night. OK, sure--it's inconvienient but the customer is always right, right?

So I drive over there, just to find out that the student I tutor wasn't home yet from an activity. C'mon, if you're gonna blow me off, at least call me beforehand and spare me an pointless drive.

Oh, well. It's good money, so why complain?

C'mon man, you know as well as I do that that's not such an impressive accomplishment. Just break 160 and you probably are the biggest jew alive.

Except for the jewish guy from pumping iron(Katz?)--now that guy was big.

Damn.

Intensity Day

wasn't feeling 5's today. so went "heavy"

Squat
...
2x1x315
1x1x335 PR
1xFx345

Bench
...
1x2x225 15 lb PR for a double
1x1x235 5 lb PR
1xFx225

Deficit Deadlift
...
1x1x345-big PR
1xFx345
1x2x275

Chins
...
1x2xBW+45
1x1xBW+80 10 LB PR
done at a BW of 197, last time I maxed out I hit +70 at about 5 lbs lighter.)3 months ago.

-squats were OK. 335 wasn't that hard, my biggest problem is still form. Descendingf quicker/sitting back is the big issue.
-Bench was good, no complaints there. I have 240 in me.
-I'm gonna switch to deficit deads for a bit to help me off the floor. And focus on the form on them--chest up and leg drive, not stiff-legging it.
-Happy with Chins, hard but I did it. Next time I'll go for 2 plates.
-Played football this morning. Definitely getting stronger, blew through everyone wehen I was rushing. Speed is good, too. GPP/stamina is shit. Gotta work on that.
-low cals for the next too days, than back to teh bulk.

Nice lifting dude.

Why the focus on chins?

Also, pull for reps for a while. 3-5 I'd say.
Strength from floor = up up up

Also, try to improve your speed a bit. Trying to pull the bar fast > trying to pull the bar. It's true that that really helps you get the bar off the ground.

Awesome workout! Damn, you just out squatted and out benched me hahah

315 was hard a couple weeks ago and now 335 is easy. That's the way to do it!

I think pulling the bar off the ground as fast as possible helps alot too, it's something I only noticed when I started to train with other people. E.g. doing a 6 rep set of deadlifts, I slowed on the fourth rep - "FASTER! DON'T GET LAZY" - and bang, my 5th and 6th reps were much faster, whereas when I was training alone I would just do what I needed to make the rep, losing speed as the sets went.

every rep should be done as fast as possible of course. of course, a 1rm is not going to be very fast anyway you do it.
