bad elbows do suck though, matthew, are they fairly pain free throughout the day?

for me, they only hurt when lifting.. but mine have been pretty decent lately.

They're fine throughout the day.
They hurt after a while of squatting (>4 sets in) and they might hurt a bit the next day (especially if I bench the next day, but even if I don't they'll hurt a little bit for less than an hour). If I do bench, well.. forget about it.

I might try glucosamine, but I'm a little short on funds right now.

I have a question. Do I have to wear a singlet at the comp? If so, where can I get a good one for cheap?

Week 8 Day 4 - bench2 - June 14
speed bench
135x5x3

squat
225x5x3

OH press
135x6,6,5

pull up
bw x8,5,5

sit up
plank
side plank

I'm taking a couple days off, then I'm going to train squat, bench, dead heavy (doubles and a single I think) near the end of the week (one day for each lift). I'm entering the third phase of the program now, the competition phase.

On Sunday I leave for New Orleans. While I'm there I'm going to try and get one or two sessions in, I might go for some easy doubles or triples. I probably won't try and set any PRs, but it will obviously depend on how I feel that day.

Six mid-term exams this week. Fuck beans.

yes you have too.. look into ebay for cheap ones? I have a titain one in xxl that fit me at 198-242 and they last forever.

youll want to train in it a couple times, deads are easier because nothing gets in the way and you can add baby powder to your thighs to lower the friction.

I used a 2xl soft suit for benching lol, borrowed it from my training partner Tim whos 225lbs lol! It was hyooge, not that it matters for benching though, but I need to buy my own soft suit.

You need to wear a full suit(squat suit of soft suit) for everything.

Whatever you get, for deadlifts it would be better if its tight around the legs, so it doesn't move when the bar slides up your legs. And lots of baby powder on the front, and slightly inner area of your thighs makes a difference, a smooth lockout.

You also have to wear knee length socks for deadlifting, in case you didn't know.

I'm pretty sure it's an IPF rule. Double check with your fed though Matthew.

that kinda makes sense if you are having trouble keeping a tight arch and flattening out on the decent of the press.. but, not really i suppose because your legs need to control that.

2 things:

If you chalk your ass, it makes it easier to tell the bench from your ass, so if you but comes up a tiny bit, the referees will see it, if you don't chalk your ass, its harder to see tiny movements there.

And, you shouldn't be on your ass anyway, you should be on your shoulders and feet, if it was legal, we would all be benching with our asses up in the air!!!

I'm going to lift at the comp just like I lift in the gym.
I'll use chalk for my hands and a belt.

I'm not using wraps, or baby powder, or baby oil (stupid alco), or chalking my legs. If I have to wear knee high socks I'll wear those.

It's my first meet dudes. Baby powder is not going to make the difference between a win or a loss. I already know I'm losing, the lifts from last year's contest are all at least 100lbs over mine. They're probably geared, but that's besides the point.
I'll leave all the tricks and tips for the next meet.

Pfffftt... who cares whether you win or lose, use the baby powder, it could mean the difference between locking out your 3rd deadlift, and not, you never know. It's like 2 bucks anyway, go get some, and use it. It's much better having the bar slide up your thighs smoothly with the baby powder, it can make a difference when you are going really heavy.
