Week 7 Day 1 - squat - June 2

squat - belted, low bar
130kg (286) x5
140kg (308) x3,2
125kg (275) x5

high box squat - touch and go
160kg (352) x5x3

leg press #1 (individual platforms for feet)
205ea x5x3

leg press #2 (single platform)
360x5x3

RDL - straps, last two sets belted
140kg (308) x5x3

I feel really good about the 308 triple. It was hard, but I'm sure it'll go up next week.
I think all the leg press work is helping with my strength out of the hole, not sure though.

I should've been able to do more on the high box squats I think. Not sure why I couldn't.

The very first thing I did when I walked into the room was jam my fingers between a loaded bar and a platform. Two of them turned that sprinkled red colour, and one of them right now is hard to the touch (kind of freaky actually). Hopefully that heals soon, gripping is weird.

I expect big PRs every week until the contest. Then hopefully a big one for my second or third attempt in the contest.
Either way, I'm coming out in last place! hahaha

Simon! I had no idea. Good luck bro

Thanks,

What comp are you entering? You should just enter a novice comp like I am, and win it

just a local comp, with mostly beginners in it, although advanced lifters can enter too, but they usually just attend state national and international events.

You're telling me you don't have local comps? And that all comps are state champs, or national champs? Hahahahahahaha!

Ofcourse you have these comps, just don't call them "novice" comps. There will be some good PL-ers at this one "warming up" for the national championships I think. None that I know of in my weight class though, so I could win it hahahahhahahha!

But mostly the top lifters don't compete in these comps. 3 big comps here a year, national juniors and masters(held with open state titles wherever), national champs, and then commonwealth/oceania at the end of the year. That's what most of the top guys do haha.

Week 7 Day 3 - deadlift - June 5

deadlift
352x5
385x3
385x2
352x5

isometric deadlifts
from the floor
2x10sec
from a few inches up
2x10sec

seated row (weight is per handle)
90x7x3

shrug holds
176x5x3

I had trouble getting my hips low enough at the start of the pull. Oddly, I can pull more with my hips low than I can when they're a few inches higher.
Working on that.
