Yeah, im nervous already. I am most worried about my squat as I havnt squatted much lately because its been bothering my shoulder. Going to start some squats again here probally on wednesday.

Tomorrow I am going to get a paused bench 1rm. Hopefully 320-325 (would be 5-10lbs pr) We shall see I guess. I seem to be able to handle the pause well and keep my tension etc. Whatever, I get tomorrow, im expecting to beat it pretty good come contest time for sure.

do you have access to a buffalo bar, ssb or cambered bar? Those will relieve the stress off your shoulder. The only problem is that right before meet time, you're going to want something that will have an easy transition to a straight bar. Most everyone i've talked to says that the transition from a buffalo bar to straight is almost the same.

also, start pounding those free squats! especially a few weeks from competition! And don't get too worried about your numbers and stuff, especially in your first comp. It'll be good to get your beak wet. Just make sure you don't bomb out, and hit your first attempts as something that you can hit any day of the week.

Do have cambered bar, but ive found this to feel way different. I'm not to worried about #'s but I do want to hit the highest #'s I possibly can of course.

My squat comes up quickly if my shoulder will take the beating. I may use a manta ray or something for the next week if my shoulders are not being nice. The transition between a few inches of bar position doesnt bother me that much. My strength is there for a half decent squat, just got to get the technique again. meet is using a mono I think which makes squatting way easier for me.

I figure ill open at around 460lbs or so. Keep it light because I know for sure i am going to be nervous. I think I could atg 460, or hit it for a set of 5 if i wanted so I think i would be very comfy with that. Then goto 500-515ish which should still be childs play then go from there.

Im not going to cut any weight, what I weigh in is where ill be. I am 240lbs in the mornings right now I think, so ill probally be in the 242s. I am getting heavy haha.

that sounds like a good plan. just don't bomb out. if warmups are feeling heavy, lower your opener.

You're not going to lose any weight between now and the contest?

ps. I don't think I've ever seen/heard a powerlifter use the word "comfy".

you can try some jump stretch band stretches to try and get pain free before you lift

More or less my shoulder will never be that good. Ive dislocated it many times, got surgury on it once (at the same time I dislocated my elbow). I can live with it now, just have to be careful how much low-bar squatting i do.

Todays workout was pretty short (40mins) and sweet.

BB Bench
135 x 5 - paused
185 x 3 - paused
225 x 3 - paused
255 x 2 - paused
275 x 1 - paused
295 x 1 - paused (paused PR)
320 x 1 - (5lbs PR) hmmm fast pause.. may have passed may not have. I think it usually would.
225 x 15 (Rep PR) - no pause.

BB rows

225 x 8
245 x 8
x8
x8

Rolling Tricep Extensions
50lbs x 8
x8
x8
x8

Seated rows
220 x 8
240 x 8
260 x 8 (the whole stack ) (PR haha)

The strongest girl ive ever seen was at the gym today.. She made everyone look bad. Probally about 5'3 and 120lbs I would guess. She was bench pressing 190lbs for sets of 10.. Doing dips with more than 45lbs attatched. it was impressive. My GF is jelous. I had to look when she wasnt watching me.

Todays diet.. (HORID HAHA LOOK AWAY)

3am (woke up hungry)
- bowl of cinnamon toast crunch (ok ok ok.. it was half a box)
- 2 cups whole milk

7am
- 10 whole eggs fried
- cup of milk
- grapefruit juice
- pepperoni

10am
-Turkey sandwhich
- 2 cups 2% mik
- 2 fruits

12pm (PWO)
-Huge steak sandwhich (at the schools bar lol)
-a medium slurpee (I was to hot to get to class hahaha)

2pm
3/4 pack of ground beef (1.5lbs I think?).. alot of meat none the less
2 cups milk

3pm
cinnamon toast crunch
more milk

6pm
-rest of the ground beef

2 x 5 egg 'pancakes'. Just swirl a bunch of eggs in a frying pan till you think you can eat it. Its not bad with salsa or ketchup.

curb last night was a classic,

"marty funkhouser willingly served us penis", and "larry jew" had to be the best lines. I have a good feeling about this season.

Well I cant buy food at school anymore I think haha.

They set-up a rugby 'signup' table right next to the food stores. I cant go past that table without them trying to convince me to play. Today this good looking girl I know from way back says "C'mon 'Frank' your built like a brick shithouse!" hahaha is this a compliment? At least she told me that I would be the prettiest guy on the team LOL.

Truth be told, the last thing I would be good at right now is running up and down a feild haha. Not to mention all those guys do is drink, everynight.

They drink/party to much. All that running would kill any hopes I ever had at building a half decent body as well, I dont want to eat anymore then I do now. Not to mention their training consists of stability ball work and curls

haha, funny you say that. I saw some guy ATG sqauting (with perfect form ) 225lbs while on an upsidedown bosu ball today

todays workout was ok.. nothing great.

Raw Squats
135 x 5
225 x 5
315 x 5
365 x 3
x1
x1
x1
x1

DB rows

120 x 8
140 x 8
x8

RDLS
225 x 8
350 x 8 (PR maybe)
x 8

Pulldowns
heavy x 8
x8
x8

Squats where good, fast/easy for the most part. GF was calling depth for me today which is nice. As usual, im squatting probably 1-2 inches under // which is nice to know. Wasn't going heavy on them here.. Just getting a feel for squatting again.

Im done with lower body accessory before the meet. Full Squats/Deads from here on in only. Wont be failing much/any lifts either.

Proposed meet lifts:

squat 400-25, 2nd-500, 3rd-525
bench- 275, 2nd-325, 3rd 340
dl- 480, 2nd-550, 3rd 575

We'll see where they are calling the squats. If they are being lenient on them ill probably bump up the numbers some.
