today bench
diet: mid day
bb bench (46 katana)
62.5kg x 10
102.5kg x 3
shirt on
142.5kg x 1 no touch
122.5kg x 3 no touch
142.5kg x 3 no touch
152.5kg x 3 no touch
162.5kg x 3 no touch (but getting pretty close)
172.5kg (~380lbs) x drop on head
no clue what happend, bar got handed off and shoulder gave out or something and the bar took the direct path to my head. luckily i was benching in a power rack and had the pins set-up so i am fine. but, that dump bothered my shoulder so we called it quits after the bench. All the other sets felt really easy and i dont think the 172.5kg would have been a problem at all for a tripple maybe i would have even touched it.
feeling a bit better in the shirt.. but still havn't done a legal bench in it yet. training with some shirted benchers this saturday so hopefully i learn alot and get some confidence so i can take on 400+.

yeah, the drop was a little scary for sure. wish i actually knew what happend better. maybe ill get a camera one of these days, not going to worry about it til after the contest.. just one more thing..
30 mins low intensity cardio
208lbs
i am exacty at the weight i want to be ~5 weeks from now and im kind of unsure where to go from here. If i keep up with the current food intake i will loose more weight, but i really dont want to gain any weight at all.. what do i do? I was thinking of loosing ~2 more lbs then eating well up to the show and feel good on the last few weeks. ideas?

yeah bigD, shirt was feeing alot better today, probally about 95% of the way there. I'm hoping its going to stretch out a bit over the next couple weeks so i can actually touch a half decent opener..
if i cant get it to touch an 'easy-ish' press.. then ill just have to open raw with 275lbs or something then shirt up and go straight to 400+.

you need to get to 198 for weigh in, right?
I would lose a few more pounds if it doesn't affect your strength. you could just easily cut out fluids before weigh ins and probably lose 5-7lbs, but it will be that much easier if you lose some ahead of time if your strength and gear allows it.

yeah, ill be lifting ~215lbs hopefully.
i got a plan..
after weigh in
-every 30mins for the first 4-5 hours at least
mix of waxy maize / gatorade / water (got the idea from elitefts, this it was justin harris).
then ill be pounding back burgers, fries, pizza, and anything i can possible eat.. this will continue the whole day.. then the next morning i shoud be really bloated still, but the food i eat on the saturday will be well known foods (oats/chicken/tuna etc..) not for any reason other then the fact i dont want anything disagreeing with me on saturday.

when matt k cuts weight, he eats nutrient dense, calorie dense foods before weigh ins. Like i remember him saying he had a slice of bread with peanut butter because it packed a lot of calories and didn't weigh much. Plus, no water in it.
the guys who deplete water over at MM, as soon as they step off the scale, they drink a pedialite, and then start drinking from there. If you deplete too much though, you don't want to rehydrate too fast, or you can put yourself into a hospital.
waxy is pretty dense, and doesn't make you feel bloated or anything like sugar does. I really like it. Doesn't taste the best, but whatever.

i got a few strategys
-water intake
-carb intake
-dense foods
-hot baths
-salt intake
should be alright i think.

I thought all these tricks were for guys that didn't have it in them to lose the fat in the first place. You don't have that problem.
If you can get as lean as possible way before, then you don't have to worry about it leading up. 5lbs of fat isn't going to help with leverages, but eating at a surplus for a a week leading up to the meet might help with your strength and energy levels. You can still bloat if you need to fill out the suit, right?
